Unnecessary free kicks and yellows. We need to get our composure back. Midfield needs lifting. Bring on Sidibe.

Central midfield, IMO is a really hard position to play. If you aren’t on your game , carrying an injury or slightly unfit, you are chasing the ball all day. It’s behind you, in front of you, to the left, to the right and rarely with you. He was a passenger yesterday and should have been subbed. I’d rest him & let him get his ‘A’ game back in the reserves before the crowd really turns. Sidibe , whilst a youngster can’t be any worse.

We all knew we needed a CB and a striker, pity AN didn't. A LB is even more important. If only to stop the 3 at the back madness We could have got that striker from Albion for 5 million and I think he would have made a difference.

Apart from the shaky defence, to me Laurent is our biggest problem. I don’t doubt he’s a good player but the play seems to go on around him and he’s not involved. I’d rather see Sidibe given a go than watch him run around aimlessly. As he’s our captain i can’t see Neil dropping him. Persistence with him and Neil is on very thin ice.

How quickly it’s changed..
Could have had a penalty
If Haks passed to our player it’s 1-0 Stoke
For their second goal we had at least 6 players in the box
We can still win this..

Hull are a good team. Twine is a player I would have loved to see at Stoke & Delap will be a handful. We need to go for it from the start, convert possession & pressure into goals & feed off the crowds energy. I’m hopeful of a 2-1 win to get the season back on track

Are any of our players internationals? Seems unlikely. Hope not because we had better work our butts off on shape and pattern in this two week hiatus. And corners and free kicks

What’s frustrating is Preston haven’t really done much except score 2 and defend really well.
Our set plays have been shocking. Need to work on them in next 2 weeks.

Burger playing very well. Leris looking good in patches, Wesley so strong and he will score with the right delivery & service. Just lacking a creative touch and I don’t it’s too long before Johnson comes on and makes a difference.

Good old fashioned physical type of game with the fans playing their part.
Did I just hear that injured players have to wait 30 sec before they can come back on?

I think it was Monica who organised a mini bus from Euston to Liverpool for a mid week FACup replay in the 80’s. 87/88 I think. A small group of us left mid afternoon & got back to London early morning. Unfortunately we lost 1-0 from memory. Great lady

I’m sure it’s happened in reverse once or twice before when a player agrees to terms and then gets a better offer at the last minute and off he goes. Stuff happens and we move on

Charlie Adam is our best ever penalty taker.

This guy looks an exciting prospect how so? I posted about this player after watching him play in the A league final a few weeks ago. He scored one and set up another. Very quick and exciting.

Not an Alex Neil type of signing at all mind, so I doubt it’s true what the agent is saying about Stoke interest. I was at the A league final last week watching him. Another player we should look at ( I posted after the game ) from that Central Coast team is a young winger called Samuel Silvera who scored the second goal and beautifully set up the 5th with a cross from the outside of his right foot. He has skill and amazing pace. Wikipedia says he’s English. keepup.com.au/videos/id/melbourne-city-v-central-coast-mariners-maccas-highlights-isuzu-ute-a-league-grand-final-2022-23/6328511782112/

The agent of the Aussie centre-back that's signed for Sunderland says we were interested www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/details-emerge-after-sunderland-see-27089434Triantis' agent Buddy Farah has given an interview explaining the mechanics of the deal, adding that the input of Sunderland head coach Tony Mowbray played a key part. Championship side Stoke City - where former Sunderland boss Alex Neil is coach - were interested, along with clubs in Germany, Greece and Norway. www.ftbl.com.au/news/accidental-hero-how-sunderland-netted-rising-star-triantis-596756Leaders of the pack were Premier League Crystal Palace, but their plan to initially loan Triantis proved less appealing than Sunderland’s impromptu bid. There were also approaches from the Bundesliga, Stoke City and clubs in Denmark, Greece and Norway. But the project at the Stadium of Light, as elucidated during a Zoom chat between Triantis, Farah, Harvey and Mowbray, offered the player the chance to hit the ground running as a potential starter in the English Championship for a club which made the promotion playoffs this season. Not an Alex Neil type of signing at all mind, so I doubt it’s true what the agent is saying about Stoke interest.

I posted this on another thread. On Saturday I went to see Central Coast Mariners, managed by Ex Sheffield Utd player Nick Montgomery beat Melbourne City (owned by the company that owns Man City 6-1 in the Australian A League GF. Unbelievable game with Melbourne hot favourites after easily winning the league. There was a young winger called Samuel Silvera who scored one and beautifully set up the 5th with a cross from the outside of his right foot. Worth looking at, as he has skill and amazing pace. Wikipedia says he’s English.
