I think we have to accept that the players are just not good enough & we are going down. What this means for SS is anybodys guess. No it’s the manager who is not good enough A proper manager would be able to pull a tune out of this bunch

Game over if we play anything like we have for 3- years. Time for Schuey to prove he's really improved us. Improved us ????!!!!!! How ???!!! In what way has he improved us ???!!!! Need to check the dictionary meaning of the verb ‘to improve’

And it took this bunch of hopeless clowns just 5 minutes to go 1-0 down against one of the worst teams in this league

I was all in favour of appointing Hassenhuthl Yep. Ralph was top of my list as well. Think he could have probably sorted the mess. Even suggested Gally with Ryan as assistant which would have done a job this season in my opinion. [b It has to be a continental manager. Has to be. We’ve tried one British manager after the other since relegation and they’ve all been complete flops None have managed to give a football identity to this team So many players came and went and yet absolutely nothing worked Why all this resistance to hire a continental manager ??!!

As the various managers pass through the revolving door I really try to spot any improvements - it’s bloody difficult to pinpoint them. No improvement as they are all from the same mould

It has gone crazy with rumours, stories galore about this and that going on at the club at the moment, when will it all end?. It can't keep on like this for much longer, but a few wins and soon would certainly help, if only in the short term. We get ‘a few wins’ over the span of a whole season We just lost 5 of the last 6 games

Part of being a footy manager is dealing with internal club politics and Stoke definitely seems to have more complicated office politics than most. No idea what is going on behind the scenes but Schumacher seems to be making a lot of enemies (or at least one or two influential ones) with these leaks/briefings/rumours. It’s almost certainly unfair as he seems like a good guy but it doesn’t bode well for his long-term future here regardless of how things go on the pitch. We need a competent guy, not a ‘good’ guy You need a good guy if you hire a barman and you don’t want him stealing from the till …

Apart from just how incredible this all is, what adds to the ludicrousness of it all is that most of the main variables have changed significantly during the period. Different managers, a whole new squad of players, different styles of play; different coaches; different recruitment model; different oversight structure and yet we still can’t score an equaliser at home. Absolutely astonishing. The only logical explanation is that we’re cursed. One variable hasn’t - we have never appointed a proper continental manager capable of giving a football identity to the team

Is it not possible to find a positive stat from the last 3-4 years? There has to be one out there somewhere ffs. Must be something related to the amount of pies consumed during half-time …

The distinctive characteristics of the way Stoke City play football-
1. misplaced passes br]2. Unforced errors 3. Lack of creativity 4. Inability to score 5. Inability to defend
This has been the profile of the team ever since relegation
No manager has succeeded in giving any sort of identity to the team
And Scumacher is definitely not the solution
We have seen absolutely nothing to suggest that he is capable of turning this team around
I have been advocating ad nauseam the need to appoint a continental manager who can come here and give a football identity to this team
Before the ones in charge drill this into their thick heads it will be nothing but continued heartbreak for us supporters

Plenty on here clamouring for Lowe. Like all the players not played their stock diminishes once they start. Youth players are always the answer until they ‘get their chance’. Wes will he back shortly with Ennis. SS today - 5 Brutal truth - Lowe is just not good enough We need to play with two up front - at this stage I would have to go for Wesley and Ennis To play with Lowe alone up front is practically an admission that your only hope for a goal is from a corner

We had one shot on target from open play. Burger’s shot which was brilliantly saved by Begovic. The rest, as I recall, all came from corners Yes I’m sure that you all support Stoke since you were little kids But you are probably locals from the area I am from Malta (hence Malteser) where 50% of the population support either Man Utd or Liverpool, the other 50% support Italian teams, and 15 persons support Stoke City (our population at the moment is circa 600,000) Just saw that there's a supporters branch there. Are you in touch? Yes of course The co-ordinator is a good friend of mine Sometimes we meet to watch a match together Not very often to be honest A favorite place is a bar/restaurant/pizzeria in the sister island -Gozo - owned and operated by a staunch Stoke City supporter

If I wanted to go fishing in a much larger pond I certainly could have But I didn’t And never will I have supported Stoke City since I was a six year old lad And will do so till I die So don’t tell me to go fishing somewhere else I travel regularly from Malta to Stoke to watch my team and will continue to do so till such time that my legs can carry me So please some respect It may surprise you but you'll find that many of us have supported since we were 'little kids' You're nothing special. It was your comment that we only had 'one shot' that riled people. It was clearly wrong but you insisted in the following posts to be negative. We had one shot on target from open play. He still got caught out in a few one on ones but luckily they didn't punish it. Whenever I watch him play I always think he's going to switch off and do something stupid. We got caught out more frequently on the other side Hoever as part of a 3 at the back with a licence to roam into midfield when necessary could be a great idea Plus gooch and junior on the flanks Just saying A kind of John Stones at city But playing 3 central defenders with Hoever one of them

Wonder how much we'll sell him for in the summer? The best midfielder we've had since relegation. Could easily see him being in a lower Premier League team next year. It's not just his ability but his whole demeanour that impresses. Perhaps we've just got used to squads full of sulky, lazy, mard arse tossers, but someone who wants to give 100% and do his absolute best for the club and supporters who pay his wages has been a breath of fresh air. I’m convinced that a club such as eg Everton will come for him

The win was not thanks to him Tactically they were superior The manager deserves no credit for today’s 3 points from an unwatchable match The player he wanted and got in the January window Cundle was utterly useless - as he has been in all his appearances so far So by chance we got three points despite of the manager and his poor tactical choices and utterly shite substitutions and not thanks to him Ooooh shut up n go fishing somewhere else If I wanted to go fishing in a much larger pond I certainly could have But I didn’t And never will I have supported Stoke City since I was a six year old lad And will do so till I die So don’t tell me to go fishing somewhere else I travel regularly from Malta to Stoke to watch my team and will continue to do so till such time that my legs can carry me So please some respect

One chance created from open play in 100 minutes of football characterized by wayward passes and an entire second half in which we hardly had a sniff of the ball. Yes we got a goal from a corner after some 7 hours of goalless football ( from our rnd, as our opponents were scoring for fun) on home turf and suddenly Schumacher is the messiah!! Where did I say Messiah? You said they were better than us. They were not. We had 5 shots on goal and scored 1 (believe it or not, even goals scored from set pieces count). They had 1 shot in 100 minutes and scored none, not even from a set piece. [b In 100 minutes of play each team had one good chance from open play We scored one goal from a set piece they didn’t Great Happy we won But going forward we need much much better That’s all I can say

I am entitled to voice my opinion just as much as anyone else. To tell someone to shut up is a manifestation of pig ignorance coupled either with arrogance or an inferiority complex Their manager got interviewed after the game and said QPR didn’t cope with Stoke change in tactics. And what did you expect him to say ?
