Harry Kane has a brilliant career scoring 213 goals in 317 games for spurs, 27 goals in 24 games for Bayern and 62 goals in 89 games for England. But he has 1 Runner Up Medal in the Euros to show for it. Bojan played his first game for Barcelona at 17 years old and his last at 20 years old. Capped once for Spain. He was tipped to become greater than Messi (scored 672 goals for Barca and the list of honors is too long to list here) and ended up achieving next to nothing for the rest of his career. At age 29, he could not get into Stoke City team regularly. What could he have become??? Better than Messi, if he had the mettle. What did he become??? A mere fraction of what his skill deserved. Despite this, he still had a better career than the VAST majority of players could ever dream of, including Bae. Bae’s best attribute this season has been his work ethic. Before scoring twice, he’s done pretty much bugger all going forwards and has been a consistent selection in one of the worst attacking units in the league. He has potential and I like him a lot but it’s stupid to compare him to a player that was light years ahead of him at that age. I was there for the away match vs Watford and he was easily the best player on the pitch. A cut above the rest. It’s not easy to shine playing with thick-as-a-plank companions who do not understand you and are not on your same wavelength

This is a romantic narrative of Bojan’s career. The truth is that he did not do well anywhere he went (apart from Stoke City where the fans, used to watching hoofball week in week out were tripping all over themselves when they got to see some class which Bojan undoubtedly offers). He did not do well at Ajax, Mainz, Roma and Milan. And at a time when every member of the Barca team got to play for Spain, he only has one cap to his name. Let’s not compare players according to what they won. If that was to be the measure then for example Sammy Lee of Liverpool would have to be classified as a much better player than the likes of Glenn Hoddle or Peter Beardsley, which of course he wasn’t Wing lauded as the new Messi is a heavy burden to carry mate🔴⚪️ Indeed it is. But some posters here give the impression that he did live up to that high expectation, which we know he didn’t

He won’t reach half the level of Bojan for us because I’m sure that there are a number of managers with a good eye for talent who will be asking for his signature in the summer window I both hope you are right and wrong, but if we are relegated that will be a certainty but he won't be going to the premier League and starting either. Probably to one of those countries you mentioned that supposedly Bojan failed in... Even with a decent record, and then will go out on loan to develop. Again I hope I'm wrong, we need him on fire to stay up really. What i really wish is for us not to be relegated, to get a proper continental manager as soon as the season is over and to allow said manager full control of the transfer market to weed the wheat from the chaff and get in new players according to a clear and defined football project and style of play. If we do that there is every chance for Bae to stay put even if other bigger clubs come for his signature (which is a certainty) but if we dont Bae, being a very wise young man, will leave

Why isn't 5 goals 6 assists in 32 (24/4/4) considered good? It's 1 in 5 still. We don't have a single player on those stats in the current animation of a league. It's not world breaking but considering he was probably not an out striker and more a flair/unlocking midfielder? The players I compared BJH to have similar or worse stats in an inferior league. He was an incredible player despite his difficulties. We need to stop comparing up and coming talented with proven talents. They might reach their potential one day but probably won't... And by the way I'm hoping he can become the best player in the world but he probably won't, and if he reaches even half the level of Bojan for us he will tear this league apart. He won’t reach half the level of Bojan for us because I’m sure that there are a number of managers with a good eye for talent who will be asking for his signature in the summer window

He was not a first XI player at Barca most of the time. Yes he did well during his time at Barca but failed dismally whoever he went after that. The Stoke interlude is of little relevance I'll do you a deal. When Bae has played 160 times for a top 4 side (I'm being generous) in Germany Italy Spain or England and scored 1 in 4 I'll agree he's as good as Bojan. I'll wait...... It is also pertinent to note that Bojan was an unused substitute in both champions leagues finals of 2008/09 and 2010/11 so it’s not as if he set the pitch on fire in those two finals. Call a spade a spade

Exactly, I'll wait too. To the guy comparing to Bojan... He did great in the MLS, didn't really play in Germany after leaving from Stoke, didn't get a chance in the championship with a toxic side, but everywhere else he's done brilliant for a no.10 or AM, even for a striker 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 is really good at top levels and the champions league. The Stoke interlude is of little relevance “Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.” Yes and your post is a clear attestation that in your case, whereas the infinity of the universe may be dubious, your stupidity isn’t

While I agree with your position, I think without a doubt that Bojan was a technically more skilled footballer. However, BJH has an added ingredient which makes him the better player ..... heart! Bojan did not have the steely determination to become what he could have been. What he could have become? Now admittedly he could have gone better without some of his mental health issues. But his record at Barca alone is something 95% of premier league players would give both bollox for. Where is this nonsense coming from. The lad has 2 champions leagues, 3 la ligas and 40 plus goals in 160 odd Barcelona appearances. Just pack it in please 😆 He was not a first XI player at Barca most of the time. Yes he did well during his time at Barca but failed dismally whoever he went after that. The Stoke interlude is of little relevance

Certainly did mate. They owed the company who built their ground over five million, sent alot of small businesses under and even owed the ambulance service money that they got out of paying. That's why it sickened me with all the fairytale shit they got when they won the league. Wasn't Gary Linekar making up excuses for them. I remember he got involved. Yes the same obnoxious Gary Lineker who single-handedly won them a Premier League title in a seriously compromised season in which each and every referee decision was given in their favour so much so that they ended up winning the league in spite of the fact that they played a wardrobe as center half. It was a complete farce that year. The FA wanted to create the myth that any team can win the EPL to further increase its global popularity (and of course, it’s revenue) and Leicester was the perfect fit for this carefully created fairytale

And what about the new Sheffield Wednesday German manager?! Won 4 out of 4. I doubt if that has ever happened in Wednesday’s history. You state that 2/3 of the managers in the league are British; but only 1/2 of the managers in the top 6 are British. Now how does that add up? And how many managers in the premier league are British? I’d say not more than 5. See what unay emery has done with Villa with practically the same crop of players which Gerard couldn’t get a tune from. See Bournemouth how they’re flying under their new Spanish manager. Ever since our relegation we have tried welsh, English, Scottish and Northern Ireland with very dire results so why all this resistance to appointing a continental manager? Why this insularity ? Practically every season 2 out of the 3 teams which get promoted have continental managers. So even though 2/3 of the managers in this league are British, the inverse proportion applies when it comes to promotion to the Premier. This club really needs a breath of fresh air, a proper shake up, and you’re not gonna get that from Stephen Schumacher

Easy answer is NO On the contrary, play like that and we go down Unable to score, unable to keep a clean sheet, 0 points taken from the game You dont stsy up by taking 0 points But we were never going to pick up 33/33 points were we? Last night whether we were top or bottom was always going to be a big ask, which we nearly answered. If we play like that, we definitely stay up. The main problem is that we know we won’t play that well every game. We’re in this until the end of the season, even if we win 4 more. No but when you get the run of the green in the last second of the game and a glorious opportunity presents itself to your captain inside the box only to see him putting in the weakest shot ever when he should have put his laces through it and either burst the net or made their goalie throw up last Xmas’ turkey then you do get that sinking feeling that no, it’s not going to be all right. Sorry if I’m being pessimistic

Very good change now he will surpass all records and be I'm charge of two relegated teams from the same league im the same season . That's not a coincidence however it's spun Alternatively, the team he left have the lowest budget in the league. And the team he took over is very poor and he's getting the same ppg as Alex Neil. Last 2 games have been very good - and we're 17th in the form table since he arrived WBA haven’t spent a penny. But look where they are ? Why? Because they have a proper continental manager, something which we flatly refuse to do

Some people calling for Wesley? He’s not scored a single goal all season, he can’t jump and he turns like an oil tanker. He offers absolutely nothing. Only place I’d stick him up front is at the queue at Toby’s Carvery

Have to start Campbell here on in. Changed the game for us and has a goal in him. Yes he will grab a goal out of every 10 good goalscorinf opportunities that are presented to him

He is far, far better than Bojan You are having a laugh aren't you. Bojan has played at a much higher level. Bae has real potential though. And what does that have to do with the price of eggs ? Playing at a much higher level means that you are surrounded by great players who not only help to improve your game but also make you look good. What do you think is the easier chore, playing in a team with xavi, iniesta and puyol or with daniel Johnson, Jordan Thompson and Ben wilmot ?

He is far, far better than Bojan You have to just be on a wind up now chief. In 163 Barcelona appearances he managed 41 goals and 19 assists and won 2 champions leagues and 3 La Liga titles. Stop being silly 😆 Let’s get real shall we. And this is not intended to belittle Bojan or anything of the sort. But the truth is that any player could have looked good in that fantastic Barca side. Sergi Roberto was a member of that team who has probably won more medals and trophies than Bojan, but he was bang average. Bojan did not do well at any team after leaving Barca apart from a good spell at Stoke. The talent of a player is not measured by the number of trophies he wins. With that measure you would have to conclude that for example Harry Kane is rubbish as he never won a single trophy which of course is not the case

You just wait and watch him next year play with a decent team Under a proper manager, and then we will revisit this post Revisit it all you like, it's an absolutely ridiculous statement as of right here, right now. Bae has put in some good performances for a bottom half, second tier club. Bojan was putting in performances when we were a top half, top tier club. And that's after playing in one of the greatest club teams in Barcelona when they had the likes of Ronaldinho, Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Messi, etc. And after he'd beaten Messi's youth goalscoring record at Barca. Bae will be a top player, everyone can see that. But to say that he's far better than Bojan right here, right now, that's just silly. What’s the more difficult task? To play alongside xavi, iniesta and the other lot or to play alongside Laurent, daniel Johnson and the other lot ?

Hopefully he’ll be with us next season He showed glimpses of Bojan for me yesterday, hopefully gives him some confidence now and hopefully SS doesn’t poss around with the team against Leeds. He is far, far better than Bojan

If we can ever get Stevens back I think he’ll really improve us defensively. We still look very shaky but a lot of it’s of our own doing by messing around too much at the back. We just need a couple of the teams around us to go on bad runs but they seem to be picking up wins you wouldn’t expect. True but the ones a bit further up can easily get sucked in We are the masters of our own destiny at this stage Let’s do our thing and some of the others are bound to slip up We have two of the best players in this league in Bae Junho and burger and if the other players go up a notch or two we should be safe

More recently I wrote that I could easily see him being a Mitoma replacement at Brighton and a lot here laughed at me
I will go a step further and say that I can easily see him at a much bigger club than Brighton next season

Despite all the talk the same problems will still be there. Boro know what a dire situation we are in and will certainly seek to capitalize on it. To be honest I can’t see where the goals can come from in open play. We must score from dead ball situations. We have to win at all costs. And we must not concede first. We have to be rock solid and play for dead balls and seek to capitalize from them. It’s all about staying up. Then we rebuild in summer under a new continental manager

John Coates is an incompetent minge. It’s that simple. He needs to remove himself as much as possible Yes continue to own the club but has to remove himself and leave everything in the hands of competent people And then come and enjoy the match in his directors box etc etc but nothing else
