Can't figure out if this Walters appointment is a masterstroke or the last act of a desperate ownership. I'll let you know at 3:10pm on Saturday.

Can't figure out if this Walters appointment is a masterstroke or the last act of a desperate ownership. I'll let you know at 3:10pm on Saturday. They're trying to eek any sort of positivity from where they can, understandably. My gut feeling is that it won't work and it's too far gone, but I'll be up for it on Saturday.

I think he's pissing in the wind. Pessimism has understandably set in and we're going with a whimper on and off the pitch.

Its true though I'm afraid, you could feel it at Cardiff The atmosphere was dire when we were needed. Millwall took a sell out away following to Southampton and created quite an atmosphere by all accounts.
I'm only saying what the spirits are telling me anyway.

As fans we still turn out in good numbers and can't be faulted on that front but I think 7 years of mismanagement has taken its toll and the majority seem to have accepted the situation. When was the last time you could say the atmosphere was good at home and we played our part? (I get its a 2 way street). I'd love to see 25K roaring us on from the off on Saturday.

I think we're all feeling it. I go from apathy to positivity several times a day. Truth is we ain't too big or too good or too rich to go down. We are 100% in the shit and we have only hope now. And you know what they say about hope 😆 I just have this feeling that somehow or someway we will squeeze ourselves out of relegation. Hopefully not on the last day of the season..

The reaction on twitter with people quoting the video with "we owe Jon this" or words to that effect is all a bit cringey isn't it.

I think SJW is spot on, the Stoke demographic, we’re not interested in step overs etc. I never bought into the tippy tappy poseur years always preferring TP style but then I’m one of the dinosaur generation! Always thought there was room for one or two creative players (eg Hudson)

The reaction on twitter with people quoting the video with "we owe Jon this" or words to that effect is all a bit cringey isn't it. I think we owe it to ourselves more than anything. Lets at least just get behind them and hope they play their part too. The time for dissent will be the minute we're down. Hopefully it doesn't come to that and we survive and we can see what the new plan is going forward. My biggest positive is that I really feel that JC has finally had his epiphany and knows full well big changes are required. Change is coming, I can sense it..

How many times have we had changes since relegation from the premier league. Any new changes need to be made by a football person with knowledge of the game , not the bullshitters that have rocked up here in the last few years.

That's exactly what I'm hoping eddy, about some proper football people coming in. JC has realised after all these years he's not making the situation better. SJW is a toe in the water. Hopefully JC surrounds himself with more characters who have proper experience in the game. No more cartwrights or Martins, proper footballing people with proper experience.

It's become quite typical of this mb that members think that verdict can be passed on the issue of employees after 2 minutes instead of 2 months or even better six. I wonder if anyone here was ever dismissed in this manner (apart from speed dating, which this resembles uncannily)

It shows how much of a Stoke problem I have, I watch a very short video of SJW and I'm completely back onboard. What a horrible addiction it is!

The reaction on twitter with people quoting the video with "we owe Jon this" or words to that effect is all a bit cringey isn't it. It's a bit simple-minded in my opinion. If it's as easy as 'Come on all together now!' Why wasn't it done before? and if it's so easy all the other teams will just copy it. I know some bloke said 'Do it for..' a few times when we avoided relegation from the Prem in the early days. But if it's championed by the club it's merely appeasing the throng with fitting propaganda. Let's hope it has the crucial effect.

I just hate where we are right now, it's like the club (just like the city) is stuck in a timewarp. The fanbase isn't much better either. We've just been completely left behind and I don't know when it will change because like the attitude to anything new in the city, people round these parts dunner like change duck.

Its because we've gone from November....shit we could end up lower mid table playing for nothing again. To Nearly March......and oh fuck we're in a proper relegation battle. We're chest deep in shit and I guess the best thing to do is for all of us try and play some little part in steering us out of it please everybody 🙏 No point booing now or ranting and raving, its just counter productive. Save it for the final nail. Which hopefully doesn't transpire..

Save it for the final nail. Which hopefully doesn't transpire.. If I said we could still "play for" a play off zone position with 12 games to go, I wouldn't be saying anything that was factually wrong (although it would take the mother and the father of a collapse of half the division's teams for it to happen), but there'd be a whole bunch of so-called Stoke supporters calling me deluded and blah blah blah. The point I'm making, however, is that "playing for" a play off zone in late February is no more unrealistic now than it was in November or even in August, because we just have never had a team strong enough to 'do it' this season. We've never had a proper team - period, just a few good players, some average defenders, and a bunch of no good-nothing hands, or should that be feet. I think the team is playing better football under Schuhmacher (apart from the LC game) than we were at any point under Neil. We're just not confident enough to see out games without individual errors striking at the heart of every single player. And without confidence no team can 'do it'.

Love the bloke to bits but think we're only a few stops away from full windmill arms especially if it goes mammary glands skyward at the weekend.
