It's like watching a matador taking on a bull. In theory it is one v one but the reality is very different. The bull is handicapped with a sword to the shoulder blades before the contest even starts. This is exactly what happens before teams like Stoke and other similar sized clubs face the matador in the form of the elite 6 clubs

Do they really favour big clubs and if so why? Normally Brits favour the underdog, so why do refs seem to reverse this behavior? Been thinking exactly the same. We all love the underdog to succeed against the odds whether that be in sport, movies or everyday life. And yet here we are not only having to compete against a complete imbalance of finances and some of the greatest footballers but then we are up against the biggest load of blatant cheating and coercing that I've ever seen. The game is corrupt and it's more obvious when you support a shitty unfashionable working class team that there is no underdog just protection of the monopoly of elite tosses. If I didn't love Stoke so much I wouldn't bother with football because it's getting more and more like American wrestling - everything's scripted so only a few can win the title and there's no real contact allowed!!

I am putting on a photographic exhibition which documents the transition from the Victoria Ground to the Britannia Stadium. Most of the young Children that were sat on the walls and barriers in the Boothen End (Like my Son) will now be young adults, Most of the young men and women who stood on the Boothen End and in other parts of the Victoria Ground will have Children and possibly Grandchildren of their own, we all have our special memories of the Victoria Ground, I hope the exhibition of my Photographs will allow everyone who comes to see it, to re-live some of them. Alan Hudson will also be attending and will be signing copies of his latest book. The opening night is next Friday 17th January and it will run until 31st January at Gallery 116 Stoke (next to Spode) HOPE TO SEE YOU AT THE OPENING NIGHT. 1997 was the year I left school and gave up my paper round to become an apprentice at a local print company. From 16 year old lad to 33 year old married father of 2. I shall definitely be there, sounds really interesting and something to look forward to. Best of luck with the event mate.

Always wanted Stoke to wear Adidas or Nike when I was a kid because I believed that was part of being a top club but as others have said the template kits aren't anything special and would much rather a kit made especially for us, not a Stoke badged version of Sunderland, Sheffield utd etc

Yeah send the reserves for this one. Even if we play out of our skins we'll still lose to a dodgy decision or a last minute Lampard multi deflection - these games aren't worth it, the big teams get all the decisions anyway.

In fairness to Lambert what he said is being made out to be a massive deal when in reality it isn't. If Villa won no worries but they've shot themselves in the foot. I think it's good that he's given his honest opinion to what he thinks rather than the cliched crap everyone else seems to read from the auto cue - magic of the fa cup blah blah

Due to constant drop in atmosphere at the Brit .Is a designated singing area needed? We certainly are the epitomy of a "sing when your winning club". The songsheet is still there and im sure most know the words. The fact is you have the most voiceiferous fans but if they are surrounded by non singers they soon lose the will. For me Block 26 should be a designated singing area ,as the noise could swell both along the Seddon and Boothen form there. Great idea but who would want to lose their seat to accommodate it? Atmospheres are down the pan in England because of seating and cost. It's the rough arses and yobs that sing and shout because they have the passion and nothing else in their lives. The powers that be have been working hard to get rid of them to accommodate those with money to spend in the club shop and fifty quid a ticket. The tennis at Wimbledon always makes me laugh when the best atmosphere they get is when they reduce the ticket cost and let the plebs in for a day!!

Well Tin hat well and truly on here. The only one I'd keep is Bego and its doubtful we will be able. Pretty much the entire squad needs replacing, potentially the manager also. We look an absolute shambles and god knows what fitness training we are doing? We look snagged after 60 mins every game. The only players I van make an argument for keeping are Bego Maybe Arnie Maybe Muniesa Maybe Shawcross The rest of them can go for me. God knows where this leaves us. For the amount of money spent our squad is an absolute joke I agree - had this conversation with my brother a few hours ago but I wouldn't go along with your maybe's - everyone bar Begovic can go.

I can't believe I'm typing it but it needs to happen. Coates has chosen the wrong man, pulis like subs again. Hughes out?? The bloke has spent just 5m on his players. The rest of the squad are the same bunch of useless tossers that nearly relegated us last year for the bloke that signed them. If anything fuck off half of this shit - gutless bastards same as last season and what about our wonderful captain? Captain Useless!!

Thinking down the road with our new "bargain buy" transfer policy and the aim of the Coates family for the club to become self sufficient, will we in effect just become a premier league feeder club? Would hate to think the plan is to shift on players (like Bego, Butland, Arnie, N'zonzi, Muni etc) down the road for profit, just to simply balance the books with no real ambition beyond that league wise. Of all the owners in the Prem, you would think we have one of the wealthiest, who himself is a proper fan of the club himself, who would always want us to remain competitive first and foremost? That is my understanding of 'self sufficient' basically a feeder club. I personally would love Red Bull or whoever to buy us and lead us to world domination even if it meant changing tradition to achieve it - I want to win and be the best no matter what.

Injuries apart only one decision to be made and that's Palacios or Muniesa to play alongside NZonzi I'd go for ............................Bego............................ GCam.........Huth...........Ryan............Eric ................Palacios......NZonzi.................. ...Arno................Ireland............Assaidi.... ..........................Crouch........................... I'm all for dropping players who aren't performing but I do believe this is our best lineup now and one one we should persevere with. I do think with games under there belt we have a good side there. Lots of attacking threat from midfield. Please no more Walters or Wilson not even as sub options. Until they can play a full 90 I'd go with sub options of Ethers > Assaidi Muniesa > Palacios Pennant > Arno Adam > Ireland KJ > Crouch Spot on can't argue with any of that. That would be my team too.

Stoke fans setting off flares I don't see why there is a big deal about setting flares off. In most European matches fans do it and it adds to the atmosphere. I love em and before anyone criticises - I'm asthmatic and have bronchitis
