Right, enough of the nonsense and bo**ocks spouted on here in recent days. Lets look forward to the weekends match at Old Trafford. They are a team struggling for form, whereas our away performances thus far have been nothing short of spectacular. The smart money is on an away win, although I wouldn't be too disappointed with a point in all honesty. Starting XI: - Begovic
Cameron Shawcross Huth Pieters
N'Zonzi Wilson
Pennant Walters Arnoutovic
Jones Scoreline prediction: - The Shit 1 - The Potters 2 (Jones + Arnie) Pre-Match Pubic Houses: - Where are Stokies congregating prior to the match? We will be hitting Manchester city centre early doors for a few jars. See you all there. Goooaaarrrrrrnnnn Jon you Rip Roaring Potters!! Be Loyal, Be Proud, Be Stoke. WD p.s. Phil says "Hi"

Good on yer WD, BUT...........Wilson? Walters? Jones? Pennant? Is that really your ideal team?
I could live with Pennant in the side........just about.

I'd play Walters in the role that Ireland/Adam have been playing for this one Paul. His workrate will count in this type of match, and in the past he has played well when in behind Jones (and that is the reason I'd go for Jones too). At some point he needs to give one of the forwards a decent run, and I think Jones is the best option of the bunch. As for Pennant, I'd pick him for his quality of delivery. This is something we have lacked. He will also track back and put a shift in. As for Wilson, I'm not too fussed if it is him or Palacios, Muniesa or even Whelan. We just need a bit more protection for the back 4. Ireland and Adam in a midfield 3 leaves us way too open.

Stafford-Stokie, Who would your preference be up front then? Being realistic, the options are limited to Jones, Crouch, Walters and Arnie. I think Crouch would end up too isolated, as we've seen time and again. I don't think Arnie is suited to it and I'd prefer him out wide. I suppose Walters could do a job but based on his past performance up front, I'd be tempted to give someone else a chance.

He is no good up top on his own but slightly deeper with the others running in and around he it may just work. Crouch is able to hold up the ball and lay it off bringing others into the game. Jones offers nothing if he is on an off day and next to nothing if he can be arsed to turn up.

As long as the second forward was closest enough to him, throughout the match, then I'd be happy enough with that.

Jones?????? HA Ha Ha Ha. He has had his very last chance if Hughes knows ANYTHING about strikers!

The problem is likely to involve a missed sitter (at least 1), a poorly conceded 30 yarder and a Stoke penalty being turned down. that's my pessimistic slant on things Would happily take a 0-0 bore draw though, it is the Theatre of Overpaid Tossbags after all!

Jones?????? HA Ha Ha Ha. He has had his very last chance if Hughes knows ANYTHING about strikers! Whoever he picks is basically going to be the best of a bad bunch. They've all had chances and none have taken it. You aren't going to get one striker that everybody agrees on. Even Hughes is struggling with that.

It just feels like we are getting a bit too worried about conceding again, I'd prefer to keep experimenting to be honest, the quicker we find the key to success the better, it doesn't matter that it's ManU. Probably never happen but for me 3 5 2 Bego Ryan Huth Muniesa Cameron Nzonzi WP Pieters Ireland Arnie Crouch I agree with Stafford on Crouchy with this one

Very much looking forward to this, despite our recent poor form this represents our best chance of coming away from Old Trafford with something in years. They aren't to be feared any more and if we press them high up the field in the same way Southampton and West Brom did and give them no space to control the game you never know, there's always a chance.
I'd go with:
------------Begovic--------------
Cameron - Huth - Shawcross - Pieters
--------Whelan - N'Zonzi----------
--Pennant - Ireland - Arnautovic--
------------Crouch----------------

Think we have more chance of a point at Old Trafford than against 'lesser' teams atm. But someone does need to neutralise Baldy early on...

Wake me up when we've lost. We gave them a decent game last season. They are not in great form, so why can't we sneak a win? It might click into place at Old Trafford; you never know!

We cant score, they are not playing well --- yet and we consistently lose at the Old Trafford. Mmmmmmm? A huge turnaround I think, Utd to go on a goal fest against us.
But I hope not..............................

I had a dream tat we were winning 3-0 at half time, Crouch scoring one of them. I then carried on said dream, and was talking to my brother at half time, and then woke up. Dreams can come true, can,t they? P.S. Would have loved to know how it actually finished!

WhyDelilah leaves Ireland out in favour of Walters. Unbelievable!
Can't see us getting anything at the shit. They can't afford to lose or draw otherwise the title race is over for them. Think they'll go out all guns blazing. We could be on the end of a good hiding. I hope not.

Talk about being negative. Your as bad as Pulis. Walters offers absolutely nothing. Might as well field 9 outfield players with him playing.
