Sad news: Brendon McCullum set to retire. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/35157724Will be missed not only for his aggressive batting, but for how he got the Kiwis to play the game. Aggressive but with real traditional respect to the opposition.

They will undoubtedly now pull away from the bottom of the table, but I very much doubt they'll get into the Champions League places. Man U lie in 4th with just under 2 point per game. So if Man U continue they'll end up on about 69 points. Chelsea have 66 points left for the to collect and they'd need 55 of them to get into the Champions League. That's a pretty big ask getting 2.5 points per game.

Would Chelsea consider him? He might be on their radar with a few other outsiders Former Chelsea player who has a pedigree and experience in Europe. Impressive in his time with us It wouldn't surprise me in the least if his name crops up. What, Chelsea would look to a mid-table manager (which, after all that's what Hughes is at the moment) to steer them back to the Champions League and winning the Premier League? He's doing excellently for us. Absolutely brilliantly. But let's not kid ourselves that a Champions League wannabe would entertain employing him for a minute.

He was Coates and Humpty's human shield; delivering bad news after bad news and taking the flack for their inability to take us in any direction other than down. Yep. We didn't have any money and had to do everything on the cheap. The owners used him to protect them and he was hated for it. It was a very difficult time for the club and a very difficult job. Would he have done a better job than Scholes has done? Who knows, but I bet he wishes he was still with us now, especially as I bet Scholes earns a hell of a lot more than Moxey now.

That was the headbutt that Keown said that Ryan chose to go down from. Just as an aside: I love the Sentinel website, as soon as I click on the link I can hear the fan on my desktop stop going faster as the desktop has to work harder for all those friggin adds. That'd be Martin 'ugly twat' Keown, the anti-Stoke wanker. Yep, that's the one.

I was going to say yet again we've been shafted but to be honest I’d rather not be live so we can play at 3:00pm on Saturdays. Pity about the extra TV money though. You only get extra TV money per game once you have been on live for 10 games a season. The money we do get covers the first 10 live TV games. We usually get nowhere close to the 10 game limit so the chances of us getting over the limit this season are negligible I would have thought. Another way to stuff a few extra quid the way of the top clubs and make sure that balance is tipped just a little more in their favour.

Did Benji say that he'd have a job there for life? Where is Benji, normally he'd be all over something like this like a rash. Those gravity crocodiles don't look after themselves do they?

Means Palace has been valued at not far off £300M - probably a good guide to the value of SCFC, including stadium, training facilities, etc. Makes the Coates' family investment of £100M or so look very shrewd. A club in London will be valued significantly more than most of the rest of the country. The land value, plus catchment potential contributes massively to the value of the club.

Clattenburg gives what he sees. Sometime he's wrong but at least you know he's not calling it because of who's playing.
Atkinson seems to go into games with a pre-defined view of how the teams should be managed. Stoke are dirty so I need to lay the law down and be firm for example.

We've sold out against Palace. Every single ticket gone (if you know where I can get just one ticket - please PM me - it would be massively appreciated).
If we can sell every single ticket for a game against Palace on the Saturday before Christmas (which has traditionally been a poorly attended time), then we really do need to expand the ground urgently.

Just saw on the SSN ticker that PC has said the club are in contract talks with these two. Both have 18 months left IMO both need 3 year extensions on top That would be a great Stoke present Good news. Would be great to get them both signed up long term.

Thought the same for a while now. Handles the media with dignity. Doesn't get in the excuse game and when they get beat by the better team is quite happy to say so.
Top man.

Comes from... Glasgow. Apparently. According to a report in Mashable. LinkWhat do you folks reckon? BTW the report also found the most intelligent was from Newcastle (upon Tyne) while the least intelligent was from Essex. Make of that what you will! I'd agree with Glasgow too. But given where my Mrs is from, you may have guessed...

If the club sold the DVD of this they'd sell lots. Very true. Are you going to be providing this service each game? Just hope it's not a one-off, lots more DVD worthy games to come I think. ...I may do..but I did it for the Man city game due to how good it was and that it was on BT, and hence I wanted to see it again!

Davina McCall and Johnathan Ross have appeared as many times as Lenny Henry on Comic Relief. I haven't seen them similarly honoured. What do you want me to do about it? I'm not Lenny Henry's agent ffs! Drop a line to the Palace if you're that pissed off about it. Well aren't you the one tell us what a worthy recipient he is?

Didn't the then labour MP and kremlin loving terrorist hugging Gadaffi sucking George Galloway get investigated over Oil for Food back in the 90's...Or because he is not a Tory does that not count. If you want to look at sleaze in Parliament may I suggest that you look at both sides of the house, The Tories have not patented sleaze by a long way... Sleaze affects all sides. Was it only the Tories that were shamed by the expenses scandal? Interesting to note that as only some of the group who will jump on the kicking a Tory bandwagon, the article linked cites it's source as "some reports published on social networks". Now it may or may not be true, but that sounds pretty flaky to me.

To the neutral it seems possibly a bit harsh given they seem to have got rid at the first sign of trouble. There don't seem to be many Swansea fans mourning him though - they seem delighted in fact.
That's usually an indication the decision was the right one or pretty much the only one. Pardue leaving Newcastle seemed to go down quite well too. Worked out well for them didn't it? Well Pardue anyway.

he recently completed his degree and subsequent MA. He's also been very critical of UK television's lack of ethnic diversity in its programming. Lenny received huge critical acclaim for his "Othello". A big part of Cmic Relief over the years too. Fully deserved when you see some of the talentless corporate fatcats that usually get knighthoods. All round decent bloke. I don't disagree in terms of "talentless corporate fatcats" but... He's gone and got an education... wow. He was critical of the TV industry's lack of BAME - again wow - he made a speech to Bafta highlighting problems about poor representation of BAME in the industry. Which incidentally he called for at least 50% of the production staff and onscreen talent to be BAME - and just how representative of the UK would that be(www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-26626388)? He did his job really well as Othello. Wow. Lots of people do their job really well. And he's gone on Comic Relief quite a few times. As a popular mainstream comic that's hardly surprising (let's face it, nobody is going to turn that invite down are they?). Am I missing something here?
