You don’t have to be particularly quick to execute the press. It’s done as a unit. You have to be clever and cut down the angles and out balls. Mmaee did it really well in the first 20 minutes yesterday. Before he got bored or knackered. Mmaaee is one of the laziest strikers I’ve seen off the ball. Couldn’t press a button. Completely agree. Watching him yesterday he looked half arsed at times and somehow always seems to be in the wrong position for a lone striker. He is though at the moment technically the best striker we have at the club unfortunately. I do think though that he has shown signs of improvement since he first arrived, but still nowhere near good enough to be a long term solution to our goal scoring problems imo.

Not over enthused by this appointment to be honest but it really does show where we are as a football club. We’ve still got some clout money wise but football wise we really are on the bottom rung of the ladder unfortunately. Last chance saloon for JC with this one.

What about a duo of Keane and Neville? Who wouldn’t want that? Each to their own but I'd rather people who have worked under pressure, coaching and playing on big stages under top coaches and managers. I'd much rather a coach with a Uefa Pro License aswell ( or two ) but each to their own. This outscoring teams comment, it was just a giggle at an observation I've made in that we can't defend or score. Top 10 this season please Steven and challenging next. We’ve said and thought that with every manager since we got relegated unfortunately.

...from a Plymouth podcast.. "If I can thank Ryan Lowe for 2 things it's for coming here when he did - and then leaving. "The job Schumacher has done is one of the best jobs done by any manager in the history of the EFL. That's not hyperbole. Smaller clubs have gone up from League 1 - but not with 101 pts. It's quite simply the most jaw-dropping, incredible job an Argyle manager has done not just in my lifetime, but in the history of the club" "Every single day he remains our manager is a win because he's destined for far, far greater things and we will be looking back in 20-30 years as it being a bit of a claim to fame that he started his career here. He'll be that good a manager and we'll be boasting about it. I can't speak highly enough about him" "People talk about who's the biggest asset here - the owner, the keeper...it's Schumacher. Even if everything else in place, maybe we could have got to 7th, 8h, 9th. We're not having the season we had without Schumacher - not a chance. He's our biggest asset and one of the biggest assets any club has in the football league" "I think we're taking it for granted how good the guy is, particularly at in-game management, making changes. He does it every week" Not if he comes here he ain’t 🤣

Well we’re definitely taking our time this time aren’t we. Don’t know whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing. Good because we want to finally get it right, or bad because we keep getting knocked back and we’re nearly onto page 2 of our list 🤷♂️

He’s done ok. Well it’s 2 more points than an Alex Neil led Stoke team would probably have got!

So who of them will be at the Hawthorns today? Any spotters out there? I’m sure Sky will point any out during the game.

I know in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t really matter, but is anyone else uneasy with us constantly poaching managers from other teams we consider inferior to us? It hasn’t worked once yet and it’ll be another team and group of fans that will hate us and regard us as arrogant and a team that thinks they’re bigger than they actually are. I know we have to get managers from somewhere but it just doesn’t feel right. Lou Macari Birmingham. Tony Pulis 2nd stint Plymouth. That’s twice it worked for starters and I don’t even know where Durban appeared from. I was talking recent times to be fair.

Out of the three mentioned I have no doubt that they’ll go for Heckingbottom. Eustace a massive gamble due to lack of experience and with Schumacher we’d have to pay compensation which I doubt the club would do possibly due to FFP? Heckingbottom it is then, especially if he’s in the crowd today. Not enthused by any of those three to be honest but it’s a sign of the times where we are as a club, a complete shit show.

Because he's young and needed experience, given the position we're in we could give him much better experience while also not playing a liability. His stage of development was judged to be at non league rather than Div 1 or 2 level. You’re talking about Bonham here right?

It's a real mystery as to what it's going on, Schumacher would be a bold appointment, given Jones was considered the young bright manager of the future. I am sure more will become clear later today or tomorrow so we can move forward. Cannot be an easy decision to make but lets hope the board get it right. He does sound a little like mad nath in that he's young and classed as exciting. Do you go with experience of this situation or exciting and unproven in this situation. Time will tell Well we’ve tried the latter and that didn’t work so 🤷♂️

We really are taking our time over this aren’t we! That’ll make it even more depressing when we finally unveil Eustace and the club proclaim him to have always been our first choice🤣

Nuno equals sell out crowds, excitement and revenue to avoid FFP. Eustace equal boredom and mediocrity. Same old, same old. Stoke sides back to the 50s, 60s and 70s were built on exciting attacking football. Now it’s like watching paint dry. Christ is he really that exciting. How would selling a few thousand extra seats for home games avoid FFP? It wouldn't even buy you 1 decent player. Hmmm wonder when Coates took over??????? It would certainly add a few thousand onto the current gates but I doubt it would be sell outs and it certainly wouldn’t make much difference to FFP.

Given how things are currently Id be happy with a point Hope we don't approach it with that attitude. We will be ultra defensive even more so than Tuesday I’d say. It’ll be a miracle if we come away from there with anything as things stand. Same team as Swansea I’d expect although I wouldn’t have Maaee anywhere near the starting eleven.

Mmaee had two good chances to score and Rose had the best one with that header. We had plenty of opportunity to win that game. You’re making out like we parked the bus, which isn’t true. I'm making out like we played one attacking type player and a very poor one at that. It was a team packed with defenders and deep lying midfielders non descript Johnson and a crap, bone idle, soft, dozey, excuse for a striker. If you think it's the way to approach home games we're never going to agree. Paul Lambert esque. Mmaee was atrocious all game and should have been hauled off midway through the second half. How he lasted 90 minutes is beyond me.

Plymouth fan I know says Schumacher is very data driven. Would fit nicely with our new recruitment model and the way this squad was assembled. Another up and coming young manager. We’ve been there before haven’t we 🤷♂️ If it’s him, not very inspiring.

How anyone can say no is beyond me. Yes we’ve got some decent players etc but up until now they’ve massively underperformed and until we get a new manager and he can start getting a tune out of them we’re in deep doodoo and shouldn’t pretend otherwise. We’ve been a sinking ship for years now and eventually as with relegation from the Prem it’s been sneaking up on us and we will sink unless we get things right. We’re in last chance saloon in my eyes.

If Allardyce is interested in the job and it's a genuine interest rather than a profile raiser, it would be interesting to know what the owners thought of it, and whether they would persue it? If we can afford fat Sam surely we can afford potter We could probably afford anyone, but whether they’d want the job is a completely different matter.

Guess it's a game.of 'spot who is in the stands tomorrow' Edit....scfc please do not invite Frank lampard. Cannot face months of being Frank lampards stoke city At least that would raise our profile in the media for a bit and get us being talked about again. Would love us to get a biggish name for that reason alone. Mowbray or Eustace and it’s more of the same for me.

It’ll be Warnock or Mowbray until the end of the season. Mowbray 😖 At least with Warnock he’ll give these overpaid underachieving tossers a kick in the goolies and tell them to pull their fingers out or bugger off. Sad but if they do sack Neil that’s all I can see happening. I can't think of a worse manager than Warnock to manage this squad. Oh wait a minute I can - Paul Lambert. What sort of manager do you think could manage this squad then?

who cares Julen Lopetegui Agote is that better correct me if it's wrong more to the point it is looking like AN isn't going anywhere surely he would have gone by now I’ll give them until 11 tomorrow. If he’s not gone by then he’ll be in the dugout on Tuesday and I won’t be in my seat if he is.

Just relieved to get the win today, although not as relieved as Neil will undoubtedly be. Players finally turned up today, well for the second half at least. Still feel we need to score at least two a game to get any points though. Nothing has changed defensively. Let’s see midweek if it gives them any confidence or if it’s yet another false dawn.
