Looking through the Sir Bobby Tributes on the BBC website, I found a link to his Foundation: Sir Bobby Robson Foundation A good way to pay your respects, I think, especially if you can't be at a game for the minutes silence ah

He'd managed England for nearly 8 years and he wanted to continue after Italia 90. In the build up to that competition he'd become anxious about whether his contract would be renewed. It was made clear to Robson he wouldn't be staying on after the World Cup. Robson was furious about this. BUT, he decided not to make a public fuss as there was a World cup to plan for. He was courted by PSV Eindhoven and he accepted the job starting after the World Cup. The FA tried to make out Robson had been a traitor by seeking alternative employment. Revelations about his private life assisted the FA in their little game of treachery. They had shat on Bobby Robson bigtime.
Robson was astonished that his eight years of experience were discarded so easily by the FA. He admitted himself it takes two years to adapt to the strange demands of such a huge job. So when Taylor looked like a man not waving but drowning in the WC 94 qualifying campaign, who was really at fault?

True Joe.
A meqsure of the man was in 2000 when Keegan had doen his disappearing act (yet again) he was prepared to come back and do it alongside Newacstle for as long as required.
Despite the shitstorm the wankstain British media (the same fat hopeless fucktards who no doubt compiled his obituary) threw at him, he still loved his country enough to put himself back there in his 70th year. There really will never be another like him.
God bless Bob. Sleep well.

Look at what he had to put up with when he managed England. He was unlucky that the tabloids were having a circulation war.

Still the same now Joe, as it ever was. 90% of British journalism is bullshit, and not even entetaining bullshit at that.

The nature of it sometimes was just bullying. Early in the 1990 world cup there was a brilliant interview with Paul Gascoigne and he was so fired up his voice was quivering. He was aghast that so many of the English media wanted the England team to fail. That isn't the case anymore which shows how the perception of football has changed.
