Im so gutted at todays sad news, a few oatcakers, me especially have made fun of newcastles plight since his contract termination 4 or 5 years ago, but well certainly join the magpies and other fans alike (namely ipswich fans) and be united for his sad loss. if bobby settled at the right club, hed have so many more trophies to his name. english football has today lost a true legend. rest in peace mate

When he was being interviewed, unlike the Sheareresque 'trained, self serving brief, diplomat speak, Bobby would always answer truthfully, from the heart and fully.

As the news of his passing was announced I was just approaching the Angel of the North with the very best intentions of giving some Magpies a bit of Stokie stick. Instead I felt extremely sad at losing a "proper" Football man. I passed on a Stoke badge from my truck to be placed at the ground with the message "RIP Sir Bobby, from the "Stokie" family.
A sad day for footballing folk.

A travesty what happened at Newcastle. Imagine if a team got into that kind of position in the league now. He did an excellent job and yet both fans and board decided it was time for him to leave. He did a very good job, as the recent incompetence has shown.
A real, real gentleman. Graham Poll recounted a Sir Bobby story. I think they drew with Arsenal and Thierry Henry blew his top. Sir Bobby just took Poll aside and said "Graham, some people need to learn how to lose." A real passion and enthusiasm for the game, I can't add anything that hasn't been said. A brave man too.
R.I.P. Sir Robert Robson.

If only half the people in life, or indeed the game of football that Sir Bobby loved could even try and be like him the world would be a better place

R.I.P. Sir Bobby.
I actually ended up smiling when fondly remembering him as he had the unfortunate knack of forgetting or mixing up names of the players he was talking about or to. Can't think of any specific stories just general slip ups. Something I find myself doing...bloody useless with names!
Great man, sad loss.

It was ace when Platt scored THAT goal against Belgium and the camera caught Robson jubilant running back to his seat. That was a great moment. Amid all the berating he had reached another World Cup quarter final.

Really great footballing man. Just brought a couple of memories back.... Italia 90 was a great summer of football, probably the best in my lifetime. And the way that twat Shearer single handedly got him the sack from Sir Bobby's dream job at Newcastle. Freddie Shepherd not Shearer mate

:)Many years ago Stoke were playing Ipwich. The Ipwich coach pulled up and the players and Sir Bobby came into the foyer. There stood Dennis Smith who happened to be suspended for the game. Sir Bobby shouted over to Dennis" Hey Smithy not playing today then" Dennis replied "Neither are you ,Waddo has had the pitch watered and overdid it and the match has been postponed" Sir Bobby went ballistic
