Of the current crop I'm a bit baffled as to how Nilufer Yanya hasn't made a big name for herself.. incredibly talented lass, Painless was just an astonishingly good album with great summer drinking vibes, feels like she has everything required to become a crossover star but she's still kinda lingering at niche indie level

Teenage Fanclub didn’t get the recognition they deserved imo.
Still churning out the tunes.

Badfinger. One of the saddest stories in rock. Did some great tunes but were exploited by an awful manager. A couple of one album wonders thar disappeared / split The LAs Milltown Brothers Ride (some success but could have been bigger). Been listening to Ride continually since getting tickets for their September tour. Vapour Trail and Leave them All Behind personal faves back in the day. Vapour Trail is epic.

I sometimes think bands don’t make it big because of the name they’ve given themselves. It served the Arctic Monkeys well when that div Noel Gallagher took the piss out of their name though It's strange these days when bands give themselves a name so generic it's ungoogleable. I don't know if it's a coincidence that AVA became more successful after changing their name to AVAWAVES. FURS, Loathe, Star, ef. Some don't even show on a Spotify search. There's a great pop band called Barbara who I remember struggling to find. They're supporting Paul Weller on tour soon and their name probably won't help any new fans find them: That track was produced by Paul Steel who's a musical genius and IMO should be massive.
