Seems well thought out to me. South standers will just shift along a couple of blocks.Lots will move to the standing area that is all the South Stand. Should help the atmosphere. Never please everyone. Seems the South Stand will become the main end now . Always thought it should have been the main stand, players come out on the left of the boothen just like they did at the Vic

Fantastic idea. Get the away fans away from the tunnel.
As long as they sort out the logistics re away fans and have sufficient protection for stokies then what's not to like.

Is there a reason supporter's impacted by this are criticised as "moaners"? Surely a consultation is to receive all views and it would not be expected that 100% of people agree. Isn't this a forum to express opinions? As I've said elsewhere on this thread, on the face of it this make my match day experience poorer (who would have thought that possible?!). I have 5 tickets in the family stand in block 33. Myself, my Dad and 3 kids. The extra walk (whilst not major) is an inconvenience and adds time to getting in and more importantly getting away. I don't want my kids exposed to the stupid shit that happens by the away end. Also, disappointing that the only people who appear to have been invited to the consultation event are those whose seats need to be move. Despite the fact it impacts on others too. I'll await the anticipated criticism for daring to voice a contrary opinion. Have you had a proper think how the extra 10 seconds to your seat is going to impact you in the long run, both mentally and physically? Such a shame the club haven't thought of these things when improving the ground considerably for everyone.

It's not 10 seconds is it? Especially with an elderly relative and kids. But thanks for your intellectual input. I'll think again.... EDIT: if it was improving the ground for everyone, everyone would be happy. Simple.

Your not that old woman on the Meir Park group moaning about the shoddy re-doing of the payment are you? I don't know how your going find the time fight two such valiant causes in a day.

In all seriousness I don't know how anyone reads that email, sees the effort the club are putting in, improvement of atmosphere, standing for the ones who want it, shifting away fans to a place where they can influence the atmosphere as little as possible and their immediate thought is... Going take me longer get to a seat...

I like the idea overall but have reservations about away fans so close to the Family area, unless it is to be moved and also I assume the current access to the corner will be sectioned off appropriately, with it being stuck in-between the home fans either side?
Generally there is very little trouble these days but can see it getting a bit hairy at times with the wrong teams.
Otherwise a great idea.

I will go along as invited on monday evening and lodge my objections to this not that it will matter or make a difference to those in charge
If this had been done when we opened that corner fair enough but why let us get comfortable and happy in that area and then turf us out in an effort to appease fans for the shit served up on the pitch! Sorry about league one but hey here’s some rail seats

Might have already been mentioned but looks from the FAQ that the family area is being reduced in size with an alternative area in the Franklyn Stand. www.stokecityfc.com/news/2024/march/05/potters-announce-atmosphere-enhancing-plans/How do the plans affect the family area? The seating adjacent to the south-east corner in the Tile Mountain (East) Stand will continue to be a dedicated family area, albeit reduced in size. An additional family friendly seating area would be created in Block 10 of the Franklyn (West) Stand, adjacent to the tunnel. What reassurances can you give to those whose existing seats will be closer to away fans than before? Away ticket allocations will be managed dynamically to create as much space as possible between opposing fans. Even when away followings are significant, the gap will still be sizable and the Club intends to work with opposition Clubs to ensure that adjacent blocks are sold to away fans as family friendly areas for those attending with children. If, having considered all of this, supporters still prefer to move, the Club will support them in finding the most appropriate alternative locations – potentially elsewhere in the family area or in the family friendly seating next to the tunnel in the Franklyn (West) Stand.

I was never fussed about moving the away end it’s been like that since I was 7 or so and that’s how it was, what I don’t want is to move from my seat in 36 too a lesser seat elsewhere in the ground

The inconvenience and time was a minor factor mentioned along with the impact on my viewing experience for my kids. Either you are incapable of understanding that simple logic or you are just looking to pick fault with the minor element. Only you know which one it is.

Crap idea imo unless they fill the corner in, a section of Stoke fans will be isolated. Giving the away fans the best concourse and making it more difficult to police the away fans in and out of the ground.

Fantastic news as far as I'm concerned as I've been campaigning for safe standing (rail seats) in general and trying to get this at Stoke for years as I've always believed that fans deserve the right to choose whether to sit or stand. I prefer to stand at matches but have always felt it unfair on the people who prefer to sit but get forced to stand sometimes, especially at away matches. With this coming in in the near future there should be no excuses for persistent standing in seated areas apart from when we score of course. For me though I'll certainly be moving to the standing area fingers crossed so bring it on and a big well done to Simon King and co for listening to us fans who prefer to stand.

Stick em out of the way for me Northers in the seats designed for Darby O'Gill and the little people. I think is a good idea

You are literally moving a block or two down? Moaners are some of the strangest people on the planet. And a wider point, it's not your seat, it's there's. You dont own it, you pay a little sum every year for the right to sit on it. If you've got attached to a little red chair that you don't own, in a certain position then that's too bad. It's Stokes to do what they see best and so do 99% of the people.
