Whatever the intent it was surely preferable to the lads watching R.Martin wandering around in a suit and a macintosh, bleating inanely on about his 5 pillars and firing each and any popular staff member that moved!

I've never personally heard of a technical director having the entire playing staff in for a team meeting to galvanize everyone that's a sign that Schuey has been deemed unable to get a tune out of the players so JW has had to step in. Now he's on Radio Stoke's twitter page giving a galvanizing interview again something I'd expect of the manager/head coach not the technical director. Has the 'change' already been made and JC has marginalized Schuey without sacking him to spare his own blushes? What he does is in agreement with SS. They've made it very clear that they work as a team within the club. I think the title Technical Director is misleading. He's more like a production line manager, overseeing all aspects of the club, which then includes talking to the "employees" in all parts of the club. No doubt he has a meeting with the tea ladies too, as he's always sung their praises for being the ones with the fingers on the atmosphere within the club. I hope he’s given those tea ladies a fuckin bollocking too.

When People talk about a “Basket Case” club this is it. Absolutely bat-shit Crazy how this club has survived with the things that have happened here. Even the owner of Ratners is pissing himself.

I’m all for this, we’ve been severely lacking in the passion department for years! get some mad bastards in there who will shake things up! Players getting away with murder for to long, half hearted shit, drawing their wage and not giving a shit when it should be blood, sweat and thunder every single week!

He's the last roll of the dice imo, there'll be no change of manager coming.

I think we can conclude from that interview, that SChuey ain't going anywhere, but I guess he wouldn't say that anyway..

We just need Wayne Rooney down there as assistant coach and we'd have a little posse of blue scousers all having a great time and reminiscing about the Toffees. Tony Bellew can be hired to replace the bodyguard/security fella that walks out with the manager from the tunnel to the dugouts pre and post match aswell.

One of the big criticisms has been communication from top to bottom, players not having a clear idea about what is expected. SJW clearly has that in his brief and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. I'm sure roles are being clearly defined and it's a nonsense to say a technical director shouldn't be involved in talking to some of the staff

I liked the bit where he says "Stoke fans love a player that chases lost causes" He's not wrong......

The last time we had something like this was when Vinnie Overson kicked the door down and bollocked all the playing staff. What SJW has done is different... he's had everybody in from the coach to the tea lady and tried to give them all a pep talk about what it's like to be a true Stokie. It was a good interview with him.
OS.

Of course he isn't, but the first quote from Walters was always going to prompt the 'Who's running the show?!' 'Is Schuey getting cucked?' comments.
Ricky Martin was all over literally every club announcement from the moment he arrived.
Walters is a temporary DoF, managing off the field stuff, Schuey manages the first team, he's done 2/3 interviews already this week, nothing has changed from Tricky.
Is it a bit tinpot? A bit of a desperate grab?
Maybe, but SJW is at least a top bloke wheras by all accounts RM was a weasel.

In the NFL the cheerleaders get the crowd going. I don't think anyone would accuse them of undermining the manager/coach.

He’s asking for the opposite of what a Bayern on here thinks a footballer should be 😂 He was the embodiment of what most fans want from a footballer, grit, determination and hard work with ability where they have it. Spot on Jon, if the players worked half as hard as he did we wouldn’t be staring down the barrel now.

I must admit it is very undermining. It reminds of that time my ex's mate Tom, from her work, all of a sudden started turning up to Orange Wednesdays with us and then, one day, he was at my house putting up a shelf when I got home from work.

It’s a call for unity and a call to arms in the last 12 games.
Exactly what you’d expect from SJW and what else can he do? He’s asking for 10 minutes full blooded support.
If the fans can’t manage that they shouldn’t expect much in response.

If his rallying call doesn't get through to the players, we can safely say nothing else will this season.... This is last chance saloon, other teams at the bottom are starting to make a fist of it now, especially Huddersfield and QPR!!!

Fully expecting Schumacher to be shouting "pick it up Junior, throw it" and "goaaarn Million" on Saturday now. Rory's back soon. Surely must be a player on the books with javelin throwers arms. Wesley and Ennis up front. Pearson and Thompson in the cage and Burger roaming. Flat back four. Shawcross ballboy standing in front of away end giving them shit.

^THIS^ Comical, Schumacher basically sat in the corner with a colouring book why the grown ups talk about football. “You can have a freddo when the adults have finished talking Steven, now draw me a nice picture”

Some very interesting comments in this interview and I’d say he’s incredibly perceptive.
Bringing everyone at the club back together was obviously a clear priority and I think we can safely assume Tricky Ricky and Alex Neil had fractured many of those internal relationships.
Interesting comments about a young squad and young manager who will each be all the better for this experience if we manage to stay up.
Note his observations about lots of things we do off the pitch and behind the scenes being top class. Sadly, as always, the travails of the first team will always overshadow those good things.
I’ve moaned with the best of them and I’m not at all convinced by this manager, but I’m happy to do as asked and will join in the “bring the noise” battecry on Saturday.

Alexa. Show me a PR stunt that deflects attention from how shit I am at running stuff.
Alexa: You’ll need someone to jangle the shiny keys.
