Really good player. In my top 3 for POTS. We were discussing before the game and general concensus was Thompson wins it by default but today he was outstanding.

Man of the match today for me.
Doesn't deserve the stick he gets on here. Good player improving each season never gives less than 100% and very rarely let's us down.

Think you're right but I'll be voting for Thompson. His performances at lb where he helped the team but was probably only ok will count against him,in midfield he's been really reliable and will be amazed if a new contract isn't on the table.

Funny how some still criticise hard workers. Not that I disagree mind you, heart carriers a lot of water for me too

Most yellow cards in the league. And? Well it suggests most the season. He’s always been a bit late to the odd tackle.

Not that I disagree mind you, heart carriers a lot of water for me too Nobody criticises hard workers, it’s the bare minimum expected. Hard work and absolute no end product gets you know where, aka Ennis. Everyone worked hard today and there was some decent quality too so it shows they have it in the locker.

Second half he was more creative, when he'd won his battles. He's not just a grafter he linked up brilliantly with Cundle and Bae.

I’ve always said is extend his contract, a good utility player to have at the club and never once heard him kick a fuss up!

Definitely deserves a new contract. Yes we need better etc etc but we're not going to overhaul the squad over night and he's extremely dependable and is a great squad player to have. I think the set up yesterday was the blueprint for how Schumacher wants us to play consistently and Thompson proved he can fit into that......

A couple of good games doesn’t divert from the fact he’s been, on the whole, pretty non de script for us.
He can cover a couple of positions which is a positive. But he’s not good enough for a promotion chasing side, which I’m assuming we have aspirations to be.
No new contract if it was up to me.

I’d give him another season.

One swallow does not a spring make. He’s being remotely average for the majority of the season.

I think the set up yesterday was the blueprint for how Schumacher wants us to play consistently and Thompson proved he can fit into that...... He can competently cover 2 or 3 positions. And he's technically a decent enough player. Seems like a very professional type of player too ie fits in and works hard. All squads need a couple of these types to help deepen the squad by covering positions when injuries hit us. Defo worth a new contract in my opinion👍

He doesn’t get the starts he deserves because he’s unfashionable.

Sorry, disagree When he's played midfield he's been decent I’d like to know what metrics would make him decent, other than a good engine. Can’t pass, unless it’s backwards, can’t tackle, can’t shoot, can’t mark a man, can’t track a man.

Can’t pass, unless it’s backwards, can’t tackle, can’t shoot, can’t mark a man, can’t track a man. Schumacher seems to like him. Singled him out in his post match interview. He seems a player who gets a bit of the dirty work done that's less appreciated. But for me he's technically sound and can play a few positions. A great squad option so probably worth keeping i reckon.

Granted he played well yesterday, but, he wouldn’t be there if Pearson wasn’t injured/suspended?
Fine as a back up, but if we have any view of pushing for mid table and beyond, he has to be considered 3rd choice CM.

I did really, told him he played great yesterday and that I hope he's with us next season.
