Ended up there today but thought he was good today.
Good strike, bit of luck but if you don’t shoot you won’t score.
Controversial - we were a better team with him him in midfield than Pearson. Gave burger a bit more freedom and less passes back to the defence, more willing to spread it wide or go forward.

I think he's the only senior player to have improved since Michael O'Neill left

He's just a really good footballer/pro... lovely left foot and really disciplined...I'm so happy he's still around.

Actually thought he was pretty poor in the first half, goal aside. But settled in the second half and nice to not need to be reliant on Pearson, too.

One clanger of a pass early on but after that he let us unlock Burger+Bae as positive CMs.
Gets way too much shit for me, good job today JT.

I think he's the only senior player to have improved since Michael O'Neill left He’s matured a fair bit for me. Not as rash, does the simple things well and very dependable. Steady and solid.

Good lad, played well tonight. Reckon Schumacher will like him too, bit more mobile than Pearson which I think will play a key part in the way we play.

Really underated, deserves a run. Getting better all the time an will only improve further with a strong run in the side. Blood an guts, what we have been missing.

Pearson has become a bit of a liability imo Thompson although very basic doesn’t let you down too often. He’ll never be motm leave that to others whilst he does the basics.

Nice to see him with the armband at the end as well. In amongst the sea of turds we have had here in the last few years, he seems to be a top pro.

Always thought he was underrated. Rarely lets anyone down when he plays.
While Stevens is out (which is fairly bloody often) I'd play him at LB and bring Pearson back into midfield.

He had a great match today. I think he's a great player to have to push Pearson to do better and fight for the position. In many ways, Thompson has beat him for the starting gig at the moment. I think Jordan's forward passing today was the best I've seen from a defensive midfielder all season. Well done lad.

His passing in particular improved under AN's tenure. I think he's better at left back where he seems to have more time. I don't think he's near to the ability level that Pearson can, and often does, display though.

I liked Burger in the cdm role on Saturday but Thompson was excellent there today. Some of the little things he’s able to do include winning 50-50s and winning headers. Having him in the cdm role was key to the win today.
His form will drop off again. With a bit of luck, Pearson’s will pick up around that time and they can keep each other on their toes.

Good game yesterday (apart from a the first backpass), but I fail to see why he's being directly compared to Pearson? Totally different type of midfielder. Better at passing, worse at positioning and tackling.
I'm happy for him scoring though, his shots nearly always go outside.
