His goal was reminiscent of Tuncay's at home to Manchester United...oh those were the days!

Positionally atrocious in that first half. Yeah he got caught half a dozen times in the space of a few minutes - not helped by playing with a knock and having the equivalent of an 8-year-old blindly chasing the ball ahead of him in Leris. He truly is an enigma. Prone to mistakes and brain farts if left to linger in full back territory, but give him licence to get forward and he can pull a rabbit out of the hat. He really needs a defensive coach to hammer in those qualities, but without dousing his attacking instincts. He will then be Premier League quality. But not much point musing over it unless he’s our player again next season.

Disagree, I don't think he's lightweight at all. In fact I think he's bloody strong, especially given his age. His problem is sometimes hanging on to the ball slightly too long, which maybe gives the impression of getting bundled off it. Couple of occasions he was through on goal and got outmuscled by the defender. One was a lovely ball from Burger. Maybe needs another twelve months of work but at the moment he needs to deliver some end product consistently. He's just twenty, never played anywhere near this level before, is not yet fluent in the language and was kicked every time he received the ball. Unlike Leris and others he doesn't make anything of being kicked and referees give him very little protection, mainly I think because he tries to stay on his feet. Yesterday he was badly fouled, the referee rightly gave advantage but didn't go back to book the player. On one occasion you can see him actually spun round by the force of the challenge on him but nothing given because he just carried on. There are numerous occasions when he loses the ball and wins it back. He was involved in the build up play to our goal and has 4 assists and 2 goals this season, equal top with Burger and Mmaee for goal involvments. He has been playing competitive matches for 13 continuous months now and has nothing left in his tank at the end of matches but nearly always completes 90 minutes. I would say you are being a tad harsh on the young lad.

You can tell Hoever’s scored a couple.
A season of tripe is forgotten.
Like goldfish.

If he stays,he needs playing further forward & kept well clear of our defence.

He's a very strange player as sometimes he looks decent then other times like he's never played football before.
He's another with too many brain farts to his game. 1 v 1 against a pacy winger he gets beat most times.
Despite the two goals I still don't think he's been that great attacking wise this season either.

Hes shown consistently he can’t defend. There’s no way he should be back here again

He had a good game yesterday, can’t we just leave it at that and give him a bit of credit. I think he has improved under Schumacher which is welcome.

He is Marmite - most of the time you would say he's useless - then has a few games where he looks top drawer either as RCB or marauding full back. There are types of opposition and our own tactical setups that when they click, Hoever is superb. Get one of those misaligned, and he's dogshit.

Looking forward to getting rid of him. Hopefully we see Tchamadeu with a pre-season behind him given an extended spell in the side to develop.
You wouldn't be surprised to see Hoever go on to have a decent career, but he's making the same errors week in, week out that he was making here a year ago.

Oh yeah in a side that can cover his inability or worse league he will probably do well. But Jesus he’d get lost in a telephone box.

I don't care how good he is going forward, I can't cope with another season of watching him get the wrong side of his man, or putting up token resistance as a winger simply strolls past him.
I hope he finishes this season with one of his goalscoring purple patches, but even that won't be enough to convince me we should sign him. I don't know who the hell told him he's a right back.

I like Hoever and would have him back next season.
His defensive work is improving over time. His positioning at times is still cack but he often has the pace to get back and cover his mistakes.
Hes comfortable on the ball and can put a cross in and score goals.
The problem here on the Oatcake is that most fans only watch Premier League footie and expect us to have a re-incarnation of Trent Alexander Arnold playing for a mid-table Championship club.
Enda Stevens is a bog standard full-back at this level - I prefer watching Hoever over standard Champ level fullbacks any day of the week.
Tchamadue as 1st choice next season with Hoever as an option for RWB, RB, LWB and Right Winger would be a smart move.

Yes, he's been poor at times this season but so have others who can't also do things that Hoever can. Of course you want a defensively sound player who attacks well but, chances are, it's either/or at this level. I like the look of Junior but I don't think he carries the same threat as Hoever in an attacking sense, nor is he as good with the ball. The problem I find with Hoever, is that I think he's capable of doing some PL quality things, like the odd touch and the goals he can score, but by the same token do something absolutely atrocious. Of the loans we have got, he's one I'd have back, but not sure we're going to get three seasons worth of loans out Wolves. They'll either want money for him or a move somewhere else, probably abroad.

Hoever is inconsistent, that’s a given. Even within games he’ll have spells where he is awful and spells where he’s top class.
He’s a really young player and hasn’t played that many games in men’s football. He’ll go onto much better things than us in the Championship, as he’s got all the attributes to be a premier league player. We will miss him, Junior is not at the same level yet and we don’t know if he ever will be.

There are types of opposition and our own tactical setups that when they click, Hoever is superb. Get one of those misaligned, and he's dogshit. As I've said elsewhere his reaction to his mistake against Coventry has shown great character. He was visibly shaken by that and received dog's abuse from the crowd until and when he was substituted. Schumacher even said after the game that he would need his confidence rebuilding and some tlc. He could easily have hidden on the bench since then but hasn't. He missed one game I think then was back in the next home game and has played his best football of the season since and scored two goals. He learned from his mistake and no longer dallies on the ball. Of course there are areas he can improve but he is only 22 and I have a sneaky feeling he may move here in the summer unless Wolves are going to give him regular playing time.
