Was it established if he was injured yesterday, or just not in the squad?

Injured... www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/match-reports/norwich-stoke-city-live-stream-8756173It doesn't help when you're missing both your first choice full-backs on the back of missing other players? Neil: “No, it doesn’t help that we’re missing both first choice full-backs, doesn’t help that we’re missing Vidigal, that Mmaee is missing. We’ve got that to contend with but there are a lot of teams in the league with all kinds of things to contend with. What's the problem with Hoever? Neil: I didn’t realise he was going to be (out) until yesterday. He wasn't able to train yesterday. We got a scan. It's not going to be a long-term thing. We’ll have a call on him for potentially the next game. How about the rest? Vidigal, Stevens, Mmaee... Neil: "They will probably be a little bit longer."

Ahaa ... Hoever didn't play, I didn't know that. Of course we lost with him and Vidigal out. And Tymon sold.

2 injured defenders and the squad looks really weak.
We have a very unbalanced squad and will need to be much more fortunate with injuries going forward than we have been for the last few seasons.

We’re not really short of options. It will just be trial and error for AN to work out which option to choose.

Do we have any good options for the left side of defence? I'm guessing Junior will get a chance on Tuesday 2 divisions up and on his wrong side. Lovely. That said, some on here built him up as a cross between Maldini and Cafu over the summer, so I’m sure he’ll piss it.

You'd think they'd stick with Gooch at LB in midweek - with Tchamadeu coming in on the right if Hoever doesn't make it. Presumably the Leris experiment is over

The Vidigal injury is starting to concern me just a tad. Sounds like he's been close to returning ever since the day he was injured, but never quite makes it.
It's like when Geoff Cameron bruised his shin and wasn't seen again for 4 months.

You never know with Neil, they could be back for Wednesday or out for 8 months.

He was the difference for us in those first few home matches and without his goals let's face it, we'd be rock bottom. Any idea what he's actually done?

Excellent again today. He’s got the odd mistake / loss of concentration in him but he’s been superb lately. Deserved his MOTM.

Yeah he got caught half a dozen times in the space of a few minutes - not helped by playing with a knock and having the equivalent of an 8-year-old blindly chasing the ball ahead of him in Leris.

Hoever is a class act... Mistake in him? Yes. But think he will play in Prem at some stage.

In fact I think he's bloody strong, especially given his age. His problem is sometimes hanging on to the ball slightly too long, which maybe gives the impression of getting bundled off it.

Couple of occasions he was through on goal and got outmuscled by the defender. One was a lovely ball from Burger. Maybe needs another twelve months of work but at the moment he needs to deliver some end product consistently.
