Seems fine on a loan. But hopefully he's just a cheap short-term Iversen fall-back option www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-city-bristol-city-captain-8013595Stoke City are considering Bristol City club captain Dan Bentley as a loan signing this month with the goalkeeper entering the last six months of his contract at Ashton Gate, Bristol Live understands. City's Championship rivals are also keen on a loan move for Leicester City's Daniel Iversen, who played under Neil for Preston North End, but the Foxes will only release the Dane if they can bring in their own back-up to Danny Ward. That deadlock could see Stoke turn to Bentley who's more readily available in the market. ...his departure would also free up some space in the wage bill with Stoke likely to pay a contribution towards his wages.

Know a lot about Bentley do you? Does anybody? Same as us all really “stand out game” against our strikers who couldn’t hit a cows arse with a banjo, in a way due diligence covered with 1 err I mean 25 games we’ve watched him for. Alls good don’t worry

The comments from Bristol City fans at the bottom of that article seem very favourable & they judge him one of the best keepers in the league and would be gutted to see him leave.
Fans are generally the best judges of players, especially when unanimously singing his praises.

Said it before on the Iversen thread, look beneath the surface and both Bentley and Iversen’s save rate is exactly the same. Right now I’m leaning towards Bentley as for a goalie to be a club captain indicated he can show some much needed command of his defence, and also that he’s good with his feet too. Given this is also a loan to the end of the season, it’s a no-brainer.

Bentley in for Bursik would be a good result all round. Is parkers interest in Bursik real or just heresay. You know what parker is like, probably crying about keepers one day and then rejoicing the next.

We need to do something about our loan situation then.
We’ve already got 6, of which only 5 can be in the match day squad.
I have a feeling this might happen.
Bentley permanent (contract take over) Iverson loan Bursik sold Which as far as I’m concerned is an enormous improvement, I think it’s pretty clear AN isn’t impressed with either keeper. Although Bonham has been ‘passable’ since he’s come back into the team.

Underwhelming transfer window, underwhelming signing possibility, underwhelming manager. who would you be expecting? Emiliano Martinez? He's a Championship goalkeeper who has played 250 games in the Championship and we are a Championship side.

It would be underwhelming. He can't even get into his own team. Isn't that down to his contract not his performances? Who wouldn't be underwhelming to you that are also financially viable give the restrictions?

Definitely an upgrade. Also says a lot about our FFP situation until the summer…… When AN first came in he gave interviews that made it sound as if we were right up to our limit and even likely to breach if we didn’t shed some costs or bring some money in during the remainder of the season. I don’t see why anyone would expect that situation to have improved significantly.

We simply need the money to do any real business.
