Where's Begovic at? He's the only keeper I've seen take every player out to get to a cross. in one season didnt he catch either 100% or as close to it as possible?

[quote author="shakermaker" source="/post/7684665/thread" timestamp="1673458993"I don't really understand those Goals Prevented stats, they don't make much sense to me.
Taking last season's stats into account for example, Bentley's Goals Prevented rate is 1.03. Is that per game? If so, that would be 1.03 x 38 = 39.14, but he conceded 56 goals.
[/quote][/b] It's his expected goals on target (52.4) divided by the actual goals he's allowed (51). Greater than 1 is above average, below 1 is below average.

It would be underwhelming. He can't even get into his own team. Heโll prove to be a Rolls Royce kind of player. Far too expensive to buy and maintain?

He made one hell of a spectacular save from a header into his top right hand corner in the last minute of a 0-0 draw on New Years Day that made the Vanarama League highlight package shown on BT.

www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/nigel-pearson-dan-bentley-future-8024192Nigel Pearson has suggested Bristol City will consider Dan Bentleyโs future this month if the Robins were to receive a serious offer but will not be bullied into doing business, particularly if he feels it leaves them short. As reported on Wednesday, Bristol Live understands fellow Championship side Stoke City are interested in signing Cityโs club captain on a loan deal until the end of the season. Pearson was eager to stress that they have only received "tentative enquiries" so far. He didn't deny Stoke's interest in Bentley but questioned whether they will receive an offer in the region of what they were looking for. When asked if they would consider moving on the club captain should a serious offer come in, he replied: "It all depends on what you call a serious offer. "You would be very, very surprised by what clubs deem to be reasonable offers. We will only move players if itโs in our interest to do it or if we feel itโs a fair situation.โ

So they want more than he's probably worth given his contract situation.
Might be an end of window signing to make them see sense.

Bentley to Wolves, Sarkic to Stoke would do I'd mentioned Sarkic a week or so back as a keeper option, be my preference out of the two actually. Definitely be a good option if Wolves Gazump us with Bentley move.

Probably just a six month loan where we'll pay his wages.

Pearson doesn't deny interest from Stoke but says that he doubts if we will pay what he/Bristol want for him. That's why he says that there hasn't been a serious offer.

www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-city-loan-deal-france-8045668Bristol City goalkeeper set to leave on loan as he arrives in France to complete transfer His temporary switch is likely to mean Dan Bentley will remain at the Robins beyond JanuaryThe loan move also suggests Dan Bentley is likely to remain at City beyond the January transfer window. Stoke City have shown an interest in bringing him on loan until the summer which will take the 29-year-old up until the end of his contract. Bentley is just one of few options for manager Alex Neil with Leicester's Daniel Iversen also a possibility but judging by Nigel Pearson's comments last week, it suggests any potential offer by the Potters is way short of what they would require to sanction the deal.

this line pretty much sums Stoke City FC up:-
City will feel they are in a strong negotiating position with Stoke after they allowed second-choice stopper Joe Bursik to join Club Brugge at the weekend. There also remains the possibility, albeit unlikely, that both Bentley and Bajic will leave this month if the club have a replacement lined up.

Bentley is a goner unless Bristol bring in a reserve keeper. This is bad news so far.
