Neil showed some balls in dropping Delap yesterday and I thought we seemed more fluid up top with Gayle pivotal in this,Campbell wasn’t at his best but was always dangerous and the more he starts the better, which begs the question, how will he use Brown….I’m thinking he’ll now be an option on the bench.I like him but think this injury could have cost him his place as a starter.

I didn’t see Gayle as being pivotal yesterday. I thought Sterling and Fosu were much more important. Gayle played well but I thought he was fairly anonymous for large parts of the game too. Campbell had good energy and movement but was struggling with holding the ball up and shooting. His best contribution was his selfless assist for Delap to score which was excellent. Fosu was by far our best forward yesterday. Brown is our top goal scorer who also has good energy, link up play and holds the ball up reasonably well. Unless Campbell or Gayle step up more in the next few games (which I hope they do!) then as it stands for me, Brown’s name appears before either of them on the teamsheet.

In front of both Campbell and Gayle and I'd argue ahead of Delap too.

We need him and when he was playing on the right wing back it just wasn’t him. He would’ve been ideal against Burnley to harass their defenders and stop them building. Hopefully when he and others are fit the manager will have some nice problems to solve with the players at his disposal.

More performances from Campbell like yesterday and I think he'll struggle to be a regular, but there are a lot of games and I get the feeling we won't have a set in stone starting 11 with it being more fluid depending on the game.

Gayle hasn’t scored yet and we need to rotate players.

I think our injury record answers this question. The chances of us not needing him on a very regular basis are slim and he’s a great option.

Perhaps now we’ve seen what Fosu and Sterling offer it’ll free him up for the press and nuisance he is….not a starter for me though. Gayle in my opinion, has more nouse and the fitter he’s getting the better he is.Personally I thought he was great yesterday but as has been posted,Fosu and Sterling were a revelation.

I think Neil will use players for particular games. I don't get the impression he is that bought into any role or formation.
I thought yesterday was the most options we had from the bench for weeks, Clarke, Delap, Thompson, even Clucas gave us a player to suit a circumstance.
When Powell, Brown, Tymon, Souttar and Kilkenny are fit we have a good enough squad for three games in a week. We just need to be in the mix up to the WC.

Every team needs 4 strikers
Different combos will be used for different games depending on the opposition

Wasn't just me who thought Campbell was dreadful yesterday then. I'd have Brown in the team before him any old day of the week.

Campbell still has that remarkable burst of pace that money can’t buy at our level. He too, still has an important role to play.

Ahead of Fosu, I would think. Both are good options.
I'm just so happy to have Campbell back as a wide forward. He looks so much leaner and quicker. We do have some exciting combinations available for a front three with the various permutations of Brown, Delap, Gayle, Campbell and Fosu. There are not many combinations of those five that I wouldn't like to see.
Wright-Phillips needs some serious thought, though. It's no good him being sixth choice of that lot, he needs regular football to develop. A loan would be a good option this season with an eye towards life without Fosu and Delap next year.

We’ve been poor all season. We’ve had one good game. As last season’s top scorer, Brown will fit in where he left off: as a first team regular who isn’t a guaranteed starter.

Wright-Phillips should consider the merit of a conference loan now until after the WC. Then he should look at a loan to a league 1/2 club. He doesn’t look consistently ready for this league, but he is good enough to be playing every week in 1-2 leagues below.

I think Neil looks a good leader. You can tell when he's unhappy with a player, but when he pulls them aside he gives a very thorough explanation of what he needs them to be doing and why.

I thought Laurent was gash as well yesterday. Really?I thought he played well mate and looked a totally different player than last week when he was awful Yeah just sure not what his job was and his passing was woeful. He's a big, powerful unit and I reckon there's a player in there, I expect more from him.

It's a squad game now and Brown will be an important part of that squad whether he starts or not. I suspect that when he's back fit he'll play that right sided forward place. Campbell isn't back to where he was before his injury and their goal was down to him not tracking back to cover his defender. I actually thought AN would pull him at half time but he didn't. Perhaps AN sees things we don't because it was Campbell who created our third goal for Delap.
OS.

I could see him picking Brown when we want to press from the front out of possession and Campbell when we need more trickery. Granted I don't think Campbell did well with his trickery for a lot of yesterday buti still have that feeling he can turn on the magic at any point.

He's in our first 18 if all were fit
Bursik Bonham
Clarke Jags Soutts Sterling Tymon Wilmot
Bakes Thommo Laurent Powell Smallbone
Campbell Fosu Delap Brown Gayle
If we can keep them fit, we can rotate sensibly and rest the muscles a bit, which will help keep them all fit, which will mean we can...

on the bench for me.
Campbell will keep his place and rightly so, best forward player at the club and its pretty obvious that Neil likes him.
