For as good we've been lately, I think we've still missed Brown.
He'll be a welcome addition when he returns.

All I’m saying is when he lost the ball and the dugout yelled at him (under my nose ….. I was that close to the action) his f…..ing head would go and he’d go missing for ten minutes whereas someone like Glenn or Rory or SJW getting a rollicking would just take it on the chin and move on. I’d rather have a grafter who gives you a performance 100% of the time than someone who’s a match winner 1 in 3 or 4 but missing in action the other games?? If that makes me a dinosaur so be it. My top player from Arnie’s era was Steven N’Zonzi but I’d be the first to admit he was a sulker and not great for dressing room morale. As I said previously, you have A flair player in the team eg Bojan, Shaq, Arnie or N’Zonzi and it lifts the rest of the team and gives you a totally different option but when you had a group of them tippy-tapping and pretending to be Arsenal I just don’t think it was ever going to be sustainable & was bound to implode and end in tears ….. which it did! Resulting in 3-4 grim yrs in championships when under TP we’d have prob had another 3-4 grim yrs but in the premier league instead!!

Pace and clinical finishing can’t be understated, just look at the Liverpool vs Man City game, Salah wasn’t having the best of games but one chance was all he needed.

Mightily impressive to win & play so well whilst still missing, Souttar, Brown, Tymon & Powell, plus unknown quantity Kilkenny.

Resulting in 3-4 grim yrs in championships when under TP we’d have prob had another 3-4 grim yrs but in the premier league instead!! Yeah, you have a point I think. For me, a player like Arnautovic had the level of skill required to play for a top top club, but not the work rate to put him into that category where both are required. I loved seeing him play and I’d take a player like that over Walters any day of the week. I agree though, you can’t have too many of that type of players (who don’t work hard) in the team before it becomes a negative. We had the balance while the Pulis spine was in place and Hughes brought a few in but we lost it as we lost the key players under TP. Saying that, for a couple of seasons we were a joy to watch, a great combination of skill and work rate across the team, and in fact watching us yesterday we look similar albeit in a different way
