Bonham Fosu Wilmot Flint Fox Baker Thompson Brown Powell Campbell Delap

Think Sterling said he wouldn't be in contention until the Hull game at the earliest. I don't think I could pick Flint. I need a break from him As shaky as he has looked defensively the last two games, the only way we have looked like scoring are by crosses to the back post for him to head back across. His performance against Blackburn says that he can be good but he looks best as a backs to the wall defender He's a throwback. Might be our best option at the moment. Play him in a 2 in a deep line but in the long term we won't trouble the promotion race playing like that.

First proper test for Neil he will have the week and two games to review
Does he see the nonsense of the first two selections and go for the radical steps of players in their best positions ahd selection on merit or persist with the experimental nonsense
physically it’s a huge test v Luton so people need to be clear on their role comfortable in it and able to focus on their individual battles

It was pretty weird to be fair. Back 4 but the RB spent more time in their half than ours, creating the slowest back 3 you're likely to see at a decent level for a long time. Midfield 3, 1 deep 2 wide and high vacating the centre of the pitch. Can't say it's something I've seen much of before or want to see much of in future.

Pity our ladies team are not allowed to play. Kidnap Beth Mead and Leah Williamson on Tuesday night and give them a start against Luton

......................Bonham.................... Wilmot........Taylor.........Jags..........Fox .....................Thompson................... .............Baker.............Powell........... Campbell...............Delap..............Brown I still prefer Bonham to Bursik! If Sterling is ready I will play him and replace Jags with Wilmot. How far off from being fit are Laurent, Killkenny, Gayle, Tymon, Clarke and Souttar? Out of interest, why would you prefer Bonham to Bursik? I wouldn't entertain Bonham for a second and if Fielding isn't deemed fit for a game then Bursik has to start. He's young, should get better and if he doesn't we should be able to command some kind of fee for him given his "reputation". Bonham is and always will be crap. Bursik, with a bit of confidence, might just improve. I'm not convinced he will by any stretch of the imagination but he's more likely to morph into a competent keeper than Bonham is ever likely to. For me, I'd go with Bonham. Bursik's confidence looks shot and putting him in the firing line again so soon after dropping him because of his performances this season might just break him. Apart from the almighty fuck up Bonham made (which Flint should have dealt with easily) he didn't do much wrong. Showing faith in him might help his confidence. Dropping him for Bursik might fuck them both up. That would be my logic.

Goalkeeper choice is interesting. One who will be shaking like a shitting dog after Sunday and another that lets in absolutely every shot he's faced with. Tough choice.
So what do you do? Go all out on a flat back four and fill the forward line or try and reduce the amount of shots we face as a team, with a dirty 541 and try and shithouse our way to a few points until the walking wounded raise themselves from their death beds?

Brown in goal could be his next plan Well he couldn't be much worse than the other two and he'd probably be better in nets than wingback.

Different system as highlighted by the manager himself Against Swansea? It was exactly the same. It was the same players but they weren't lined up the same. We were playing with a high press for the first 30 mins, something we didn't do against Blackburn. Lewis Baker was also our deepest midfielder, sliding into a back 5 at times, which didn't happen at Blackburn. And Jacob Brown was deployed in an unfamiliar left wing position, compared to playing on the right against Blackburn. Wilmot was also pushed further forward.

Having been already shit-binned for my thread posting "my burning question" . I dread saying too much just in case we incur another loss against Luton.

Quote in Sentinel from Neil - 'Tyrese Campbell is a centre-forward, for example, so if we’re playing 4-3-3 we’ve got limited options in terms of what the wide player looks like.' Where has he got that from? Campbell was at his best playing out wide in a 4-3-3, and cutting inside. He was unstoppable doing that. He scored a bunch of goals, and helped keep us up. So that's the opposite of the truth. Does no one else in the coaching staff remember this? Rory Delap? Can Campbell himself not even have a word? Why, as fans, are we sat here knowing more than the manager? Link here - www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-city-goalkeeper-alex-neil-755005244

Worryingly I’m approaching 2.00 Saturday with as much dread as 3.00 very concerning after only 2 attempts but hopefully he sees the light after a full weeks training , we are bad enough without bizarre selections making it worse .

There is nobody to tell him about Campbell as there is no continuity at the top. Delap has proven he's about as much use as a chocolate fireguard and probably doesn't know what day of the week it is, O'Shea has only just joined and you could only imagine a smarting Andy Cousins being about as open as a Nun's chuff after seeing his compatriot getting the sack.
It's what happens when you base absolutely everything around a manager.
