Thank you Michael For saving us from certain relegation to the Third tier of English football. Thank you for cleaning out all the overpaid deadwood and steadying our FFP crisis. Thank you for developing some of our great young players: Brown, Tymon, Tezgel, Campbell, Taylor, Souttar… Thank you for some of these incredible signings this summer. You’ve left us in a good place to be able to kick on as a club (Hopefully) I’m wishing him all the best..

Love the bloke as a human being. If only he can have faith in himself by being braver and bold.
Wishing him all the best Thanks Michael for everything. Take care sir.

I've been his biggest critic recently but he certainly deserves a thank you. Turned round a sinking ship with some exciting football scoring plenty of goals before bizarrely losing his nerve.
All the best for the future, but the time was right.

in many ways he did a good job, had a lot of stuff to deal with, more than most managers face at most clubs
in the end he simply failed to get the best out of his players for too long a period & had to go

Kept us up, got rid of some shit, steadied the ship but then it just went to shit really. Nothing against the bloke but it had to happen.

Glad he’s gone. He’s not here to be our friend is he, I’d rather him be a wanker and get us promoted

It's a pity. Barnsley away for his first game was amazing - gave us some hope after the shite of Rowett and Jones. Thought we might survive then and it was a miracle we managed it so comfortably in the end.
Nice bloke who died on the hill of 532.

A shame it ended how it did as he's the first manager to stop us from dropping like a stone since relegation. No doubt, he'll have success elsewhere. Thanks, Michael.

Really hoped he would be the man to build a decade long ‘dynasty’ complete with inbuilt successor - I just don’t understand why he could not get a tune out of the players he had. Wish him all the best for the future - it’s been a tough gig here.

It all started to go wrong after we beat WBA at home last season, he thought the 5-3-2 was going to push us on but it was quickly found out, our only creativity would come from the wing-backs so double up on them and we had nothing to offer, he was too stubborn to change it back to 4-3-3 or similar, he's carried on making excuses to back up his insistence to play with wing-backs even though we obviously didn't have the personnel to make it work, the standard of football suffered and the supporters started to get restless but he insisted that persisting with 5-3-2 would work. Good luck MON and thanks for saving us and giving us some hope in the first 2 half seasons of your tenure, what a pity you didn't have the belief or courage to push us on. Gouranga.

A good man who ran out of ideas. Took us through a tricky period with Covid dealing with things in a classy way generally. Just a shame he stayed a season too long.

Thanks Michael and all the best for the future. I'm glad you've gone before it got nasty because you don't deserve that.
I think you have left us in a much better place than the two previous incumbents with a couple of tweaks to the squad.

He's been an amazing manager for us, largely in an off the pitch way, but also on the pitch by keeping us up and progressing the kids.
We'd have stayed up with him, results improving when the key players are back. So now, the next appointment is so important, could really see us relegated if we get it wrong. Not having someone in already is very concerning.

Why sack him at the end of the window when he has recruited all the player's, very odd, you would think all of the managers we will be looking at were available, by & large at the end of last season?.

I'm actually very sad it hasn't worked out.
Of course we want every manager to succeed but I don't feel a sense of celebration right now.
That first season was miraculous and will be part of our history, but we look to have really stagnated.
i think he has been unlucky with injuries but its a decent squad overall. I like that he has shown faith in younger players and I think they will benefit from that.
Good luck to him.

Has he left us in a better place than when he found us?
100% he has.
For a manager with very limited league football management experience he did a superb job at first, and history will show that overall he did a good job in sorting out an absolute mess of a playing squad.
It's a shame that the football stagnated and that he seemed to have lost that spark, and it was becoming clear to see that he had ran out of ideas of how to get it back.
All the best Michael in the future, I dread to think how bad it would have got if you hadn't walked through the door in 2019.
