Afobe was on the verge of joining Club Bruges on Friday, with a deal fully agreed until it collapsed at the last minute. Talks with Millwall advanced on Monday morning and Afobe's permanent transfer — on a one-year deal — is now expected to progress. Watford had also discussed a deal with the former Wolves striker, who worked with their head coach Rob Edwards when at Molineux, but Afobe has chosen the Den instead.

Bit confused the Athletic text says: Stoke have agreed to sell Benik Afobe to Millwall, where the striker spent last season.If we are selling him then we won't be handling any of his salary surely? and if its a sale should be getting a nominal (no matter how minute) amount in return? |

I'm sure we'd of been helping Wycombe with Vokes wages, can't think he'd of taken that much of a pay cut & can't imagine their wage structure of being adequate to support Vokes pay demands. |

I'm guessing Millwall can only afford to offer him a year at the level of wages he's demanding. And we are only to happy to shift those wages off our books for a nominal fee.
Obviously, this being Stoke, he'll score a hat-trick against us on the opening day. Can't wait.

We should be celebrating getting rid of the useless c&^t by any means possible. Instead, there's an air of disappointment.
The two people who were responsible for spunking £12m on him, are no longer here.
It's another step towards clearing the (very) dead wood we still have lingering.

I’d rather he scores against us than stays on our books. He’s of no use to us so keeping him is a much worse option than selling him and him having a brilliant season elsewhere.
