I’d rather he scores against us than stays on our books. He’s of no use to us so keeping him is a much worse option than selling him and him having a brilliant season elsewhere. The day I start worrying about Benik Afobe as an opponent is the day I find Lenny Henry to be funny. Great news at last that he's finally gone

I'm guessing Millwall can only afford to offer him a year at the level of wages he's demanding. And we are only to happy to shift those wages off our books for a nominal fee. Obviously, this being Stoke, he'll score a hat-trick against us on the opening day. Can't wait. Yes often happens of course and if he does score so what? So what indeed. C'est le football. Regardless, I'm sure he'll get generous reception from the away end.

1 year deal suggests there won't be a fee, and it'll just be them handling as much of his salary as they can handle. Hopefully most of it? Surely if they've bought him we can't contribute to wages can we? We would need pay him off

Prediction time. Afobe will score more goals this season than our top scorer. And probably comfortably so. Crap deal. It's as good a deal as we were ever going to get under the circumstances unfortunately......... How about the option of keeping him? Who’s better in our squad at the moment amongst our current set of centre forwards?

Prediction time. Afobe will score more goals this season than our top scorer. And probably comfortably so. Crap deal. Why do you say that? He started the same number of games at Millwall last season that Brown did at Stoke and was their penalty taker. He still scored fewer goals. His minutes per goal last season was worse than all three of Brown, Powell, and Baker. I feel you’re just being needlessly negative.

We’ve just got such a paucity of options at the moment up front if just feels like a crap deal for us.

Well he was never going to stay with us and there's not a lot we can do about him rejecting Bruges' wage offer. Not sure what else we can do?

At the moment it just doesn’t sit well with me.

I don’t think Benik deserves to be called a twat or cunt to be honest.
He’s gone through some unimaginable, horrendous times and I know I’d never come back from it. However he’s been an awful signing for us, but guess what? He’s part of a long list of awful signings for us over the last few years.
I wish him all the best and hope he reignites his career. I’m glad he’s off our books though.

People are getting a bit cranky but I think there's plenty of time for it to still be a very good window for us.

He’s 29 and has only managed three seasons with more than 10 goals. One of those were in league one.

No doubt he scores the winner against us on opening day. Never rated him before he come to us but deserves some good luck after what's gone on in his personal life.

If Afobe still has a year to run on his Stoke contract, I would have thought that Millwall would have tried to get him on another season's loan on the same terms as this season gone especially as Stoke didn't want Afobe to return. Would that not have been cheaper than outright purchase? Just a thought?

Prediction time. Afobe will score more goals this season than our top scorer. And probably comfortably so. Crap deal. A massive wage off the bill and 500k which allows us probably to sign 2 replacements. A player who would not have played for us again. Yeh, crap deal.
