Energetic, Attacking or Dynamic might do. Any sign of that Blueprint? Who you expecting to produce it. I'm a football fan sitting on the sofa not auditioning for DoF though we should employ one to.

I am not arguing about clubs spending less and doing better. Luton are I think an exception due to their very small pitch. Huddersfield spent a lot under Wagner but I don't know how many of those players are still with them. Either way or anyway we are talking about small points and goals difference but I take your point about more attractive attacking football. And I would definitely throw in Coventry as well.

you mean sign 26 managers before getting a good one. Our own strike rate isn't too hot either. I really don't get attached to them, if the club is well run they're just another employee. A fresh voice is nothing to fear as long as that voice is bought in to work to a given blueprint rather than each one bringing his own. That's what Watford do. The manager is really just a coach and it's other people behind the scenes who make long term decisions. The thing is we don't operate that way - get rid of O'Neill and we are tearing up the first run of coherent squad building in about 8 seasons and starting again. The only way that is going to work is to change to the Watford model, move O'Neill upstairs and bring in a manager/coach who is prepared to work with O'Neill. Which to be honest I don't think is as bad an idea as just taking another punt, setting us back to square one and hoping for the best - which is what the usual band of lucky rabbit's foot "can't be worse than" squad want to do.

It doesn't need to be as extreme as the Watford model to be fair. Southampton, for the most part, get their appointments right and have an ethos and identity in place that their appointments need to fit into. They don't always get it right as Pellegrino and their weird panicky dalliance with Hughes show, but they've got it right a lot more often than not over the past 10 years.

All put in place by Les Reed and Nicola Cortese as DoF & CEO. I wonder if they could both spare us a few years.

It’s certainly the model I’d like us to follow. Not sure about MON as DoF but I suppose he’d suit the owners narrow mentality.
