I am not sure he is an answer, or the answer, but is there a case, if the play offs are out of reach, giving him a go until the summer and see what sort of a fist he makes of it?..Under MON we simply don't seem to be able to kick on to that next step.

He failed as a Manager at Bristol City. Why would he do any better here?
Get Terry or Lampard in if MoN is not the man. Both would be good with our younger players.
O'Neill is staying though.

In Holden's defence he was sacked when they were in 14th on the back of a bad run, they ended up finishing 19th under Pearson and continue to struggle. As you say MON is going nowhere for now.......

At least the team seemed to play for him. Against the poorest team we have played in a while.. And Hull actually created chances. Thankfully they were woeful at finishing.

Why the morning mist Crouch?. We are stalling again after a bright start to the season. Teams have sussed us and know how to play against us in the system we play. He's again reverting to questioning mentality as a reason we can't perform consistently and saying the younger players need to be physically stronger, which I agree with, yet all over the team by and large we get out battled and out muscled. This season I felt was a chance to really kick on, yet like last, we appear to run out of steam and ideas again.

I'd give it to Holden until the summer just to see if things improved- it could hardly be much worse than the regular fare served up by MON. Forget squeaking into the play offs, we simply aren't good enough.
The performances at Hull and Coventry were as different as night and day.

He's got a foreign sounding name which could, at a push, sound German. The way Nige pronounces it I'd thought it was a type of Russian stew.

Holden's a shoe in to be the next permanent manager I don't know about that, but it's clear that the MON era has run its course. Yes, the players seemed a lot more interested in playing for Holden against Hull, but that could be simply an "at least you're not MON" effect.

Holden's a shoe in to be the next permanent manager If that's true, and only the Board will know if it is, then I'd agree with the OP. May as well give the job to Holden now.

I mention Roy Keane in jest last night, but would anyone be happy to see him given another shot? Got a promotion from the Championship on his CV, says he's mellowed as a person and as a coach as he struggled previously dealing with players who couldn't cut it in his squad. He'd be right up Peter Coates' street I reckon. The more I think about it the more I'm on board.........

I like him and think the fans would be behind just not sure the dressing room or modern footballers would as they’re such divas.

Invoking the spirit of Chic Bates. I like it! That went well For a few weeks it went very well. "Chic Bates, he will take us up, Chic Bates, he will take us up" / "Chicky Bates Red & White Army" At least we could double our song repetoire.
