He'll go. If we get a decent wedge so what? There's nothing wrong with being a selling club - doesn't seem to have done the likes of Brentford or Southampton much harm.
For the first time in generations we're seeing players actually improve at Stoke (Souttar, Collins, Smith, Tymon, Campbell, Bursik) and other clubs actually wanting our players - that starts a virtuous cycle as decent prospects will want to come to us if they see it as an opportunity to progress.
Surely that's got to be a better environment than shelling out millions for idle wasters we then having to shell out even more milllions just to get rid?
Embrace it boys and girls - its a better business model as well as offering an extra dynamic to watching onfield displays.

More concerned about keeping the manager in truth.
If Newcastle were to come calling we might have a problem.

Suits us 😂

Joey Barton and Clint Hill deserve a lot of credit. I saw Souttar a few times for Ross County and he just didn't look up to it. He came back from Fleetwood a different player. He's obviously a fast learner as he just keeps getting better I made a point of watching a few Ross County games and I couldn’t get over how bad he looked in the air. He just couldn’t judge a long ball and head back from where it came. Which obviously for his stature was just crazy. In the youth team he had always been an excellent passer he’s definitely a great example of where good loans have been a massive help. Think it also shows you shouldn’t write off players with obvious potential until they’re into their 20s. We had plenty of people writing off Tymon at the age of 18, 19, 20 etc. Now he’s a monster of a left wing back and still improving, but with a more short sighted manager we’d have shipped him off to Blackpool a season or two ago.

Everton paid £30m for Michael Keane and £25m for Ben Godfrey. If Souttar keeps improving at the rate he is we should be looking at a similar fee.

The only saving grace is it’s Ferguson doing the scouting, so he might report back that Souttar is too soft.

He's under contract so just refuse to engage in any talks over a transfer. It really is that simple he's not for sale.

Exactly and that’s why it’s so important that we’ve got Taylor and Forrester out on loans (potentially decent loans as well if Forrester recovers from injury soon). Got to start that succession planning.

That just makes no sense. Why? Because you say he’s not for sale and then say if we get an offer for him that’s another scenario, well which one is it?

Because you say he’s not for sale and then say if we get an offer for him that’s another scenario, well which one is it? The OP and thread title is how do we keep him and I gave the answer. You then said every players has a price which I agree with but if the club refuse to sell then that's it. If as you say they have a good offer and sell then they clearly didn't want to keep him did they. So how do we keep Harry simple don't sell him as he's under contract and we don't need to sell him. The question was not how much would it take to get him or would the club sell him it was how do we keep him. Those are two completely different questions and scenarios.
