Jack butland was, is, and always will be fucking shite! Have a look at the goal josh King scored for blackburn in the cup game (well be before the injury) and you'll see someone with no clue how to keep goal! He was the biggest reason we got relegated. More culpable than Hughes!

More culpable than Hughes! He was bloody brilliant in that 15-16 season and he was only 22. Can't just ignore that. One of the best in the league and was about to get a run as England number 1

That is hardly a surprise banks was another level, and in an era where we could have the best of the best, in reflection the team of the time should have done more. In my time we’ve had some really decent keepers. Apart from Banksie ……O’Neill, Leslie, Farmer, Shilton, Fox, Simonsen, Sorensen, Begovic, Butland (until his injury), Grant, Bursik (hopefully). Add to this some short term signings who made their mark….Corrigan, De Goey, Crossley. Plus some ones to forget Irvine, McManus, Siddall, Haugaard. There’s probably some I’ve missed in each category. Jimmy Robertson. Was on the Stoke End when we were playing Middlesbrough and Brian Clough sent a very tame shot straight at him and it rolled through his legs into the net. You don’t forget that sort of thing. Happily, as I recall, we went on to win 3:1.

In all my years watching Banskie, I can only remember him ever making one mistake and it wasn’t really his fault. The opposition goalie kicked the ball all the way down the pitch and as Banks ran out to catch the it bounced on the penalty spot, which was rock hard due to the temperature, and bounced over his head into the net. I remember it like yesterday because I was in the old Bulter Street corner stand and had a bird’s eye view. He was the best and no goal keeper at Stoke has ever come close. You can probably count the "mistakes" Banks made on one hand, but these two almost ended in a nightmare scenario. See about 1:25 through 2:15 in the video.

Hot away with that one for me. Looks like he's dropped the ball onto Maupay but the usual can't touch the keeper rule. Apart from that having a great half

Just saved a penalty 😂😂🙄🙄 Correction failed to dive out of the way of the penalty Waited and was able to drop to his left actually. A poor penalty but Butland resisted for once diving early to his right,

Great to see Jack play well and his post match interview showed him as the class act he is.
Honest, articulate and a bloke well aware of why he finds himself in the position he does.
I genuinely hope this is the start of the road back. At his best he's a very good goalkeeper. Off the pitch he's just a class act.

Had an outstanding game but of course some pick up on his kicking which you expect. I guess goes against their... he's useless agenda to see him play well.

I counted three possible cock-ups, but was fouled twice and the other was a slip. I was there (seems like yesterday) but I not try not to think about it. But watching that does show how bloody good we were. If only we had players that were half as quick as Greenhoff and TC.

I've never actually any of that match before. Few things: The white kit looked fantastic. Why weren't the keepers wearing gloves? Wasn't this a common thing for them to wear at this stage? Greenhoff looked unreal player. That through ball and also the touch when he went one on one.

Arrogant player who got us relegated. Right on cue. He seemed quite the opposite to me and he no more 'got us relegated' than dozens of others over an 18 month period.

What are you suggesting, loud boos, a provocative banner, snooker ball in a sock to the temple when he's defending a corner?
