Shop window and scouts checking his fitness. Exactly this. If we want him gone, we need him to be half fit given that he did nothing at Luton. Or maybe he went in the O’Neill and asked for another chance?

Possible future at Stoke then Wherty?. MON is definitely going to go with 3-5-2 as first optional but needs the flexibility to go 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 and currently Ince is the only realistic option on the right in a 4-4-2

We should all applaud the wonderful astuteness of MON in selecting this seriously underrated super star and hope that all those money greedy agents fail to realise the potential of this young man who unfortunately failed to make a breakthrough at Stoke but will certainly go on to a very good job elsewhere.

The worse thing we could with Ince is put him in the shop window because if he repeats his 'efforts' from the past couple of years then nobody will touch him. Best keep him out of the team and hope someone buys him on his past reputation.i.e..pre Stoke.

No more than a shop window job, surely. Talk him up, his confidence is clearly up, which is essentially the key component of his game, and get him out the door.

I think Ince's time here is up really! Despite having a good game yesterday the same happened last preseason when we met Leeds. Still he hardly got a game for us. I can also remember he played well against QPR when given the chance, but the next game he was anonymous again. Ince certainly is a good player at his best, but unfortunately he is at his best way too seldom. Because of this I think the best for both parties would be to offload Ince so he could kickstart his career somewhere else, and we could get him off the wage bill of course.

Rory Delap singing Ince's praises to the roof tops in the Wigan post match interview. He had him very much in the frame for the forthcoming season. If we play that wastrel, we deserve exactly what we get- which will be absolutely nothing. All this crap about “ a good player in there”- it hasn’t been there for 3 years, but this shyster is another one whose performances are elevated when you don’t have to witness them. Teams are queueing up to sign him, he’s that good.

there’s a good player in there somewhere Yes there is, he has great ability which doesn't always add up to the sum of the parts. Another player signed who then plays in a team set up in a way that is almost exactly the worst kind of way for him, under Rowett we had Woods playing chuckle brothers football with the defence whereas Ince needs the ball early in space and not surrounded by 3 or 4 players, doesn't excuse some woeful performances from him but unless you are going to play a fast breaking attacking game he will still be pretty much ineffective, the odd game apart.

I do think it's probably just a shop window job with a view to a loan somewhere - but it is interesting that he's re-emerged and Gregory and Vokes haven't. He's snuck back in before, and it's not inconceivable he could sneak in from nowhere again Enjoyed this little gem from Rory: www.stokecityfc.com/news/2021/july/Delap-on-Wigan-defeat/"The one thing you can't ever criticise Incey for is his work-rate and effort. He showed his character tonight and worked ever so hard"

Really bigging him in the Sentnel too www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-city-transfer-tom-ince-5708088“One thing you can never question of Incey is his character and professionalism, that has been there from the moment he first walked through the door. “He has maybe suffered from a lack of belief and confidence at times, from where it was previously, but he is in a really good place at the minute – he looks fit and he looks strong.”

I think a keyword when it comes to Ince is self confidence. Under Rowett I felt he was much more confident, but after this he has hardly shown any belief in himself when playing.

Problem is we all know he is a decent player. He just goes missing, his head drops and looks disinterested in games. He just can’t seem to apply his obvious talent for a full game.
I really don’t know why but I just can’t see that ever changing? I wish I could!

Yeah, it’s odd that he’s always seemed to have been given (yet another) chance by each manager and is often kept on the fringes of the bench. For all we know, he could be exceptional in training, really good personality and character to have behind the scenes and just unfortunately for us supporters is absolutely usually toss and looks like he can’t be arsed when he’s in the pitch. I wouldn’t want this but out of all the managers we’ve had with Ince, I believe MoN is the type that can get duds firing.

Ince has talent, the problem is he fails time and again to use it. Often does just enough, he's had opportunity after opportunity to change and has failed We need rid or he will do just enough to get past the transfer window and then revert to being idle.
