Where did I say you can't criticise players? There's plenty to legitimately criticise Brown about - his finishing in particular isn't great. However that's a far cry from calling him abysmal and completely writing him off. And writing him off even if he improves isn't even criticism - it's blind prejudice. I don't have a problem with criticism - I have a problem with people making up their mind about a player and sticking with that opinion regardless of what they actually do on the pitch. Much of what is claimed to be "criticism" on here isn't - it's just blindly repeating preconceived ideas about their personal villains. And it cuts both ways - try criticising one of the heroes (like Powell) and watch what happens. Where have I "completely written him off"? I said he has improved. I said he could well improve to the point where it is sensible that he starts. He's just not good enough TODAY and based on what I have seen of him so far, I don't think he will be this season. I said that too. Now who is applying blind prejudice? My original post in this exchange was in response to someone who literally said Brown is abysmal and they wouldn't change that opinion even if he did improve. You then barged in and accused me of being against criticising players. At least read what's been said before making crass assumptions about the point someone is making.

Thought he was excellent today in the first half and rightly MOM. Second half was a bit more like the Brown we’ve seen on the telly but no one played well second half really.
Ran the channels, nice passing and a goal.
Not gonna lie thought he had placed his goal perfectly until I saw the replay but they all count.

Brown was a nuisance all game. Started to show back end of last season and again today. Made hard work but 3 goals and some tidy stuff

Good first half. Sorry but second half his lack of ball control stopped 3 attacks mid-flow.
Its an improvement overall but I was surprised he played the whole game.

Worked hard, got his goal. He's poor on the ball.

I though he was pretty average tbh, closed down well enough but a couple of things broke down due to his lack of quality, but he got a goal so can't really complain too much.

Hit and miss now, he actually got hold of it and found a teammate a few times. He still messes up too often and broke some great moves but he's on a real upward trajectory.

Did the River Park Rapist have an inability to control a football or something?

He's basically a more mobile Mama Sidebe. He'll work hard & he'll be useful team player but his touch will at times let him down. He's improved, he looks stronger & quicker. Hopefully his touch will improve, as today it did let him down, especially 2nd half

I can't wait to see how he develops over the season, especially with the new coach from Man City that we've now got to work on individuals. He's a game lad, never shirks a challenge but yes a limited footballer. That can be improved to some degree though if the player shows a willingness to learn, which has been confirmed he has.
Over to him and the coaches now.
He's got half a chance for sure.

MOM? Not for me. Agree he’s a Squad role for me especially if we are wining and under the Cosh and you can leave him to chase lost causes but is his hold up play loses so much momentum and often loses possession but he’s Clealrt popular with hai teammates because of his work rate abs athleticism and for that he can be an asset in a striker pool can also play in a three

He didn’t play with his head down today, and while he made errors, he had a decent game. Made one or two decent runs. He’ll do much better if the ball is sent up just in front of him rather than have him chase lost causes around.

Agree he’s best with the ball in front of him Vranic I think will help with that kid of pass His finishing needs to improve dramatically twice today when through you felt sure he’s miss and he did fortunately one was pulled back for goal one bit item area he needs to develop

Not a fan at all. He is not rapid at all. There defence dealt with him easily I thought and very lucky goal. Fletcher was miles ahead of him in awareness and ability. He’s a squad player for me nothing else. Hurry up Delap!

Thought I was losing my sanity reading on social media people thinking he was excellent and MOM today. Reading this thread at least gives me hope that my sanity is in tact. I genuinely saw little improvement in him he’s has no awareness at all and not the brains or ability to play as a striker. MIght be MON’s Achilles heel if he persists with him.
