Sorry if it offends, but given his constant and regular need to do this kind of childish stuff over and over again, I genuinely think he's got problems in that area. Hence the suggestion that he gets some help. I'd be delighted if he did, perhaps we wouldn't have to do this every 6 weeks or so when he feels the need to kick it all off again. It's not just me, he does it with lots of posters he doesn't like, it's not healthy. You have a very naive outlook on life mate. I'm off for a few post-work pints in the sun like you suggested anyway- what are you doing? We'll be in The Coachmaker's at some point and then somewhere to catch the Fail match if you fancy getting out a bit. I don't bite 😀 You'll be back doing this all over again in a few weeks time, re-confirming once again what I've always said, you need some help. Although perhaps without the gags about autism and spectrums now you're such a committed mental health advocate Glad to hear you're taking my advice. Have a great evening. I'm off to the gym then doing likewise, although I'll give the Fail match a miss, due to complete lack of interest

TBH mate, your constant references to mental health are in really poor taste. Especially considering there's a thread on here regarding that very thing. To be honest those kind of posts do offend me. I think if you genuinely believed he has a mental health problem and were genuinely concerned then you'd either steer clear, block his posts, or send a concerned PM. You wouldn't keep repeating it on a public forum in a fashion to rile him. As I said yesterday, I think you're both decent blokes, but the personal remarks need to stop. Admin. Edit: I am aware that I also had a run in with another poster 2 days ago but in the end we kissed and made up, like adults.

I do wonder about sentences for convicted murders this 30+yrs sounds about right to me but some I've seen are unduly lenient. I think a minimum of 30yrs regardless for murder is a starting point.

I’m sure there will be plenty in the legal profession looking to find a hole in this if not now, then in the future to launch some appeal in order to make some money. Life should mean life and these sorts should never be allowed to present even the most minimal of risks to others.

I've never understood how murder sentences can vary so wildly. 30 years is probably right but I've seen them as low as 18 years. Let's be clear.... 18 years isn't life. At 18, you are barely an adult so how could such a timeframe represent life?
25 upwards for me.

Life should mean life and these sorts should never be allowed to present even the most minimal of risks to others. Could you just explain to me how the numerous people in the legal profession would launch an appeal to make some money? You won't be able to as you have no idea what you are talking about. So I will educate you. He is convicted after jury trial. That means any appeal against conviction must be made within 28 days. You can't just appeal though, you have to establish that something has gone seriously wrong with the trial process itself such that the guilty verdict is unsafe. First you would have received appeal advice from your QC / Counsel. If that advice is in the negative then that is that. You would then have to find another firm to take on your case, but you wouldn't be eligible for legal aid. You would have to pay privately. Where is this guy getting 3, 4 5 thousand pounds from just to get a further advice on appeal. Let's assume it's sentence he wants to appeal stating it is manifestly excessive. Well the above applies again. I'm not even touching on the fact that criminal lawyers are precluded from approaching people and offering representation, so looking for a loophole would be a total waste of time and money if you aren't instructed by him. It is people like you with uneducated opinions like this that are the root cause behind the criminal justice system being decimated. You will get what you want though, as there will soon be no barristers to represent the Defendants and no barristers to represent the Crown all because you think criminal lawyers just money chase.
