Oakley Boothe has shown nothing to suggest he should be starting.

Having shown himself to be a manager terrified of losing and conceding goals, but not particular to winning and scoring, and up against the league leaders (who are hurting themselves over yesterday's defeat) MON will revert to the most defensive of his defensive systems by playing nine defensive players and just one in front of them to offer the first line of defense.
Gunn - Collins, Souttar, Chester, Fox - Smith, Mikel, Forrester, Thompson, Tymon - McClean.
He had originally wanted to include another two cds in the line up but found they were either unfit or lent to another team.
Game tip: 0-0.

I thought Collins looked good at RB yesterday.
The more he plays there, the better he’s getting.

I would be amazed if any line up didn’t have McLean and Allen it. Just have to accept it.😕

I’d either go 4:3:3
Gunn
Collins Souttar Chester Fox
Mikel Allen Clucas
Clarke Fletcher Powell
Or without Powell:
Gunn
Collins Souttar Chester Fox
Mikel Allen Thompson
Clarke Fletcher Clucas

I’d either go 4:3:3 Gunn Collins Souttar Chester Fox Mikel Allen Clucas Clarke Fletcher Powell Or without Powell: Gunn Collins Souttar Chester Fox Mikel Allen Thompson Clarke Fletcher Clucas Abu Dhabi. You lucky bastard. One of my favourite places in the world. I imagine it has changed so much since I was last there over 10 years ago. Loved staying at Rotana Towers and the Le Meridian which was pretty much next door. Golfing at the Abu Dhabi National is fantastic. Jealous? Just a little!

Yeah it’s changed a fair bit since then....I’ve been here 7 years now and it’s a pretty awesome place to live. Makes a nice change to be watching the mighty potters in the snow when I’m sat in 30 degree sunshine 😂

The exact starting line up aside, what I'd love to see us a wholesale change in intent.
Even without Campbell, surely we can cobble a side together that can go out on the front foot and put the wind up anyone in this division - leaders or not.
If Powell is fit, he could do a lot worse than give it both barrells from the off.
Defending a point is absolutely no use whatsoever to us.

That said McClean and, to a lesser extent, Batth should be nowhere near the starting line up.

Time to give Matondo another chance, hasnt impressed so far but a few weeks out of the team might of done him good and he can't do any worse than McClean

Gunn (I really want Davies back, but he should keep his place after yesterday's game)
Collins Souttar Batth Fox
Mikel Allen (I'm really tempted to play Clucas here, and probably would have with another opponent than Norwich!)
Clarke Powell McClean
Fletcher

I’m interested that everyone is picking Gunn. To me he’s looked shaky over the two games. I disagree. He looked like he was still struggling with injury v Huddersfield but he made an unbelievable match winning save onto the bar. Yesterday he got 2 cracking punches in early doors and he made a low save look much easier than it actually was. Gunn is an excellent goalkeeper and also still young himself.

Gunn Collins Souttar Chester Fox Mikel Allen Clucas Clarke Fletcher Powell This is what I expect he will do if Powell is fit. Though one of the three centre mids should be dropped to accommodate our best player in his best position (attacking midfield).

I like that Gunn has the confidence to catch a lot of shots. That takes so much pressure off instantly. I’d sign him if we could. Though I think that Davies is equally solid at this time, I do think Gunn will surpass him in a year or two though.

Gunn Smith Collins Souttar Fox Mikel Cousins Clarke Powell Matondo Fletcher I'd go with this. Allen needs dropping as soon as possible. It still beggars belief that there are people out there who don't recognise the value of Joe Allen to the team at Stoke. A vast asset who covers over 12kms in every game and plays a valuable role in linking play. Not even quite yet up to full match fitness after a serious injury. One of the best players in the Championship. There again we seem to have a certain amount of people who do not think MON is a good manager?????? Amazing!!!!

Gunn Collins Souttar Chester Fox Mikel Allen Clucas Clarke Fletcher Powell You’d think that line up ought to be good enough to win a football match now and then wouldn’t you? I think he’s ditched 5 at the back now and will stick to 4-3-3 even for Norwich away. Though we might see Cousins back as a one-off safety first measure due to the quality of the opposition.

The second punch was good, but he should have caught the first one. The low save was pretty straightforward. He looks indecisive to me and was nearly closed down a few times while he dithered with the ball at his feet.
