Either manager led or personal choice, either way it’s upto them. Personally I’d prefer they did it

Micah Richards and Alex Scott on football focus spoke about how great it was clubs are still doing it, then this happens.
I Worry Chelsea might start up later too

Gone on far too long. Should be scrapped. Concentrate on the football, politics should be nowhere near sport.

A few clubs have already decided to end this tiresome, irrelevant, empty gesture crap. The rest will follow when proper, full crowds are allowed back.
For example, today.

It’s up to the club, I don’t care whether teams do it or not. 8 seconds or whatever it is doesn’t make any difference to the world either way..

Because its an empty gesture?
Its a front so they can show they're doing something about it without actually doing anything meaningful.

I think it had its moment but it’s time to call time on it. Even the commentators are lacklustre describing it these days.
“The players make their customary gestures, and we’re underway”.
It all just feels a bit half-arsed and stale now.

My opinion is that it’s run it’s course. Great gesture when it started but now it will increasingly be greeted by derision as happened today, surely making it counter productive.

It should be up to the individual.
The fact that the kneel initially supported BLM the movement is why it doesn’t sit right with me. When the BLM was removed from the kneel and it was just the fight against racism they should have looked for an alternative to the kneel. The alternative I believe would have been far less controversial and far easier to get behind. I think 99.9 percent of people are against racism it’s just the Marxist movement they opose. In hindsight the various associations and groups probably wouldn’t have supported BLM if they had a greater idea what it stood for. They should have got behind kick racism out of football which is a far better cause to support. Perhaps going forwards we should go back to slogans around the ground because the more fans attend games the more division will be created.

Read the comments in this thread, read between the lines and you will see plenty of racism about. Yes taking the knee has had its time, but don't think the fight against racism is anywhere near over.

I did notice this on the stream today too, it caught my eye as it was one of Boro's black players not taking the knee.
I see that both Millwall and West Ham fans have both booed the taking of the knee in todays games.
I support the idea of solidarity and support of players of colour, however, i see this gesture as now being a 'thing' in its own right and becoming more divisive than actually helping.
