Good for them BLM are as racist as those they protest against , and before anyone starts I have family who originate for the Caribbean and they think the same

Not a chance it will continue when all fans are back. In one sense I hope it does continue until then , to gauge the fans reaction.

I think itās an empty gesture now. In many professional games these days at least half the players can black, so of course black lives matter in football. They donāt need to continue ātaking a kneeā indefinitely to prove it.

It made its valid point at the time as did clapping for carers - if Les Ferdinand can see that itās lost itās impact and is becoming a token gesture to the point QPR havenāt been doing it for a while then it really is time to move on - but the likes of Lineker want to demonise any dissenting voices and folk who object to this being forced on players and fans alike.
To be honest Iāve long been uncomfortable with minutes silences and clapping at matches for all sorts of reasons and the elevation of rememberance day to a somewhat cynical industry of seeing who can mourne the best.......and again demonising any nay sayers who may not wish to adorn themselves with poppies that have been hijacked in the post-Diana grieving as an art form.....

I did notice this on the stream today too, it caught my eye as it was one of Boro's black players not taking the knee. I see that both Millwall and West Ham fans have both booed the taking of the knee in todays games. I support the idea of solidarity and support of players of colour, however, i see this gesture as now being a 'thing' in its own right and becoming more divisive than actually helping. I happen to have some real reservations about the BLM movement as I stated on the original thread on the EE board. And the very fact that the original BLM slogan was changed to a general anti-racist one I would argue that the footballing authorities think similarly. That said Iām not sure why people felt the need to boo so aggressively about an act that is done in good faith however misguided you may it may not think it is.....

Same thing happened with the weekly doorstep clap during lockdown
Week One -great adventure, kids running about, etc Week Five - Sharon curtain twitching and gossiping with neighbours as no 75 didn't come out and clap for second week running
Week Eleven -only Mrs Buffin across the road comes out (103 years of age) obviously hadn't had the memo that the clapping had stopped on week 10. Looked around bemused, Clapped on her own loudly for one minute, slammed the door, haven't seen her since (this was September)
Lets end it before we all become Mrs Buffin

And the rainbow laces thing this weekend hardly gets a mention, a token logo at the start or each half in the corner of the screen. There really are some horrendous double standards in the game

I'm not sure how the situation can be resolved or whether like everything in modern politics, people are entrenched and polarised to the extreme with no end in sight.

They haven't taken the knee all season.
Their squad made a one of donation to charity instead as they believed that was a better way of making an impact.

Taking a knee should be absolutely nowhere near a football match. BAME footballers now make up 33% of Players. This is massively disproportionate to British society where only 3% of the U.K. population is black. If anything this completely proves that football is NOT racist.
Stop politicising our game! Stop this virtue signalling bullshit!

It's nothing to do with representation in sport It's everything to do with police injustice against black people which while not as extreme as the US is an issue in the UK.

Because its an empty gesture? Its a front so they can show they're doing something about it without actually doing anything meaningful. The fact that we are talking about it like this and fans were booing shows it has more meaning than you think. To me its worth the few seconds it takes to keep the topic top of mind. Is everyone here really that bothered by a message that racism is wrong? Really?
