Best from the bench at this present time with his skill set.

The quality isn't there yet but his work rate and pace makes him a better option than Vokes.

I've been disappointed with him after a bright start.
I'm not really sure what he offers.

Another one from the Shea and Sobi camp of never be good enough the difference being he works hard and is append to a good lad bit that doesn’t make him a good footballer or even a below average one .
If we really watched him 25 times and couldn’t see his glaring technical faults we have the worst process in the history of transfers namely no football brain , good at nothing with the ball pass , control . Dribble or head , the ball is his enemy , took me 2 games to see if or someone is telling porkies on the 25 times the little tinker

I think he could do a lot more. Certainly looking at his highlights at Barnsley he did a lot more there.
Needs to focus and show more aggression

Has a touch of the Ramadan’s about with how weak his passing, shooting, heading and crossing is.
Clearly got potential but needs a lot of work.

The bench is imminent me thinks. And that’s where he’s best, last 20 mins if a change of approach is required.

I agree I posted another thread that he's basically helping us to defend from the front, his contribution is more defensive that forward play, though I think idea is that this is a bonus. We are harder to beat with him on the pitch compared to Vokes, that is the bottom line. With Vokes they would have been playing 20 yards further up the pitch. He doesn't allow defenders time on the ball, he actually beats defenders to the ball in 50-50s through his pace (he did a few times) tonight and lays it off. He's basically poor on the ball, his technique is pretty poor, a bit like Walters when he first came, only Walters is much stronger and Walters improved quite dramatically. His pace and movement does work defenders even when he is not directly involved. He contributed again tonight and we were worse when Fletcher came on He definitely needs to improve but I don't agree to writing him off.

I did not watch the game last night, but I can see he has got a bit of a pasting on here, to say the least. Is he an out and out Striker? Or is he more of a Forward joining from the Wings. He played as our main Striker last night, did he not? Is that his preferred position or did he have to fill in there out of nessessity? A lot of questions there I know, just something to think about. I haven't seen anything of him live obviously, but he seems a bit small to play as our focal point up top, but had to do a job last night!

A willing runner prepared to ‘fill in’ in several positions. Unfortunately at the minute we have no alternative other than a partially fit Fletcher and then Vokes.

He has woeful skill, makes the wrong decisions, but he falls into that camp of being a good lad who works hard so you cant really shout at him, but is not good enough. Older Stokies would put him akin to Martin Carruthers - he could be his twin in application, skill etc

I really want him to come good, but what a frustrating player he is! Yesterday was another example of this when he could play an easy ball to McClean in the first half, who would have got a great goalscoring opportunity, Brown again let us down with a hopeless weak header which is easy to stop. The same happened against Cardiff when he and Campblell were in a similar situation, but again Brown f----- it up! I must admit despite of his workrate and running I'm really fed up with him, and as an attacking player he almost looks useless to me! If headless chicken ever is gouing to be used about a player this must be it!

I think we could help him use his pace a bit more by playing the ball into space or helping him to get one on ones with defenders. Pace is his biggest asset, but I don’t think we are playing to those strengths. He will be a key part for the time being so MON needs to work this out.

A week ago he was being praised on here after the Boro game now he is written off. The reality is he is a young player being asked to lead the line in a team set up not to lose with two very defensive central midfielders, two full backs who contribute little in attack. last night he played alongside a player starting for the first time this season with Powell, our main creative threat, running on empty. It didn't change when Fletcher came on. It is an acceptable approach while we wait for Clucas and Allen who offer more from midfield but if we want to score freely we will need to take more risks before too long. Brown is part of the solution

Brown is part of the solution It absolutely DID change when Fletcher came on as he actually won challenges in the air on the deck instead of being bullied off the ball. Players were actually running beyond in anticipation once he was on the pitch. Brown's one thing is pace but he has little else, his passing is awful, he trips over the ball, has no striking instinct and doesn't seem to know where to stand or how to jump for a ball. I'm sure he'll improve in time but he is so far off being a consistent, decent starter in any position at this level

I haven’t been impressed with Brown since he arrived, was waiting for him to ignite but it hasn’t happened and he looks limited. We were crying out for pace but without a bit of guile and technical ability it’s not much use

Not talking about his character, he's better technically than Shea.even v Qpr he showed some neat play but obviously was ineffective. You describe him as some kind of donkey, he simply isn't. It wasn't £2m either. Ince definitely has better feet, hes better than most of our players in that sense however his other on the pitch flaws are well documented and undeniable. Ince is not going to improve, Brown can.

That’s actually point Brown won’t improve he’s not got the basic skill set of a footballer at this level , and if we watched him 25 times we should have seen that
