I thought he was outstanding considering the tactics he had to play against and the role he played. Also combined well with Campbell.
Unbelievable commitment to the cause today.

Worked his socks off and stretched the defence.
Let down by some bad decision making and some weakness when crossing. But think he was knackered.
A lot better than he has been and way better than Vokes up there.
A very encouraging performance.

Commitment certainly seems to be something this guy brings.. good addition to the team.

Brilliant today.
Decision making not always the best and he was tiring but kept going and was always a threat.

Sometimes players need time to find their form in anew team, and he is a young player playing in a higher league than he was used to. Just needed time.

Must have ran a marathon today ! Folk will say quality isn’t there... he’s not technically the best but give us that commitment and desire week in week out and we will get by with the quality we do have in others.
Some great link up play, won fouls, held the ball up and ran his bollocks off until the 98th minute

His work rate meant their back were under pressure unlike when Vokes plays, great move from the Boss.

Never going to score many goals in that role, but in terms of giving the opposition something to think about and bringing others into the game it's certainly a decent option. There's plenty of others around him who can score goals......

Put himself about really well today, gives us an out ball with his pace.

MOM performance for me everything that Vokes isn't. He has pace, mobility and persistance and is just as good in the air. Excellent today!

Attitude and desire to work was top notch. Not the biggest or strongest, but really up for the battle and never stopped working and asking questions

Did well and took turns with Campbell to put pressure on their defence, it certainly stopped them having the time to lump it into our box quite so much

Not to single them out because every one of the lads gave us as much as we could have asked, but Brown and McClean, while maybe lacking in finesse and top draw quality, certainly more than make up for that by their effort. They are both relentless, and in this division, that is going to matter in the marathon race.

Until Fletcher is back definitely a better option than Vokes

Give me a Brown and McClean any day over Ince.

Definitely earned his place today, much prefer to see him playing than vokes. He might not have the control and skill yet, but he will get better.

Much derided for not being maestros of the game but we’ve got Powell and maybe clucas for that. Good on brown and McLean for their industry today

This time next season we’ll be raving about him.

I’ve never really understood the criticism he gets he’s not yet the finished article and a good squad player in my opinion. His pace and work rate always give the opposition something to think about.

Has to start there again on Tuesday.

Surprised how effective he looked up top considering how lightweight he has looked, but offers that bit of unpredictability which breeds uncertainty in defenders which in turn leads to them dropping off and allowing us to press up on them. Still very raw, but has something about him, offers pace, a good work-rate and that flexibility - would like to see us try him at wing-back again if we reverted to a back 3 at some point.

Anyone else starting to lose faith in Jacob?
The more I watch of him the more glaringly obvious his technical deficiencies are becoming.
Hopefully his slump in form is temporary because I was impressed with him early on in the season.

I think he currently lacks confidence to go by himself and take a man on or shoot. Hopefully he can pick it up.
