He's a centre half who needs to be played at centre half. But he’s good enough to benefit from the experience. He is but it’s a waste and should be a stop gap.

Bit concerned he’s about to start 3 in a row at right back if Smith is fit. Collins should be alongside Batth and Smith right back today🤷🏻♂️

Absolutely no harm in him playing at right back in terms of his development as MON himself said. Other young players such as Mason Holgate and Ben Godfrey have done it, Tyrone Mings is another one, players such as Carragher cut their teeth at full back if you go back further. He'll get a run at centre half at some point.....

Could be the next Gareth Bale. Just like TP said Shotton was.

I think overall he's a decent enough player in either position, works hard too

Another absolute gem we have had come through our academy.
Bursik, Collins and Campbell should bring us an awful lot of money when we eventually sell them.

His improvement in 3 games at right back is staggering. He looks like he has added a yard of pace. He will be a fantastic centre half. What is most impressive about this management team is how they have trusted and improved the young players - Bursik, Souttar and Campbell. Today Brown and Tymon really shone in their best positions. Add in Verlinden and Thompson and it is an impressive list.

3 games against very physical teams and its worked really well. We’re not looking vulnerable to aerial balls in to the right back position and he hasn’t looked like a centre half being played at full back. He may well keep his place against Cardiff’s long throw too.

Thought he was immense today and one of his best games. Seemed to be everywhere when needed and he leapt like a salmon for that goal, so he’s all good in my books.

He’s certainly not a slow player in either position but at 6ft 4 he’s hardly going to be nimble, however, he looks speedier of thought and seems to be anticipating things better now when at RB. Being the size he is, he can also apply a bit more pressure to their full backs/wingers in their own half too as he’s not easy to get past. He’ll still be a miles better centre back than full back though. He’s a good footballer above all else, and looks about 10 years older than he is.

Really good today but still think his future is as a centre back, and a really good one at that.

Best Right back at the club and that's not even a joke Of course he is, that's why I don't see why people are so insistent he plays at CB when we've got loads of CB's

Just read Gary Neville's autobiography
It's starts like this ...he is centre back , he has always been centre back for the youth team , he wants to be centre back
The boss explains to him ... Steve Bruce and Gary pallister are two of the best centre halfs I have come across , they are a great double act and rarely injured ...you have no chance of getting a game at centre back
Paul Parker however is getting on a bit and increasingly Injured , why don't you start playing right back and we will see if we can get you a game .
Do I have a choice ?
No
So right back it was .
Anyway , once he got the hang of it , he was fine

Another outstanding display. Long term hes a centre half, however he’s keeping a 4m full back out the side as he’s head and shoulder better than him. The lad is our future captain. A real leader. He’s going to the top and I just hope it’s with us

We are stoke city and hopefully we won't repeat mistakes of the past. We'll sell at the peak of their value to us and use that windfall to further develop the playing side of things further. That's what clubs like us have to do I'm afraid.

I've not been able to watch the last few, what's he like going forward at RB? Was excellent as a threat first half, not so much second half as he was busy being a rock solid defender. But he still got round the back a couple of times and provided the best crosses of each half. All round great performance in my book , my MoM. On a day when we had about 9-10 contenders

It’s like in under 12s football when one kid has an early puberty and finds himself a foot taller than the rest. Hahaha that was me! A glorious season it was - won nearly everything in the air, scored a couple of headers from corners (I was a centre back) and rescued the shorter keeper with a some off the line clearances. Fast forward a year later and everyone had caught up, another year and I felt like I was shrinking. I never really had any pace (although I made up partially with stamina) so my value to the team dropped considerably and eventually the whole career trajectory played out: arrival, rise to fame, glory, slow descent and eventually one day I realised they'd replaced me. Ahh its a fickle game. 🤣

Collins in Champo team of the week. Seems like we have one in every week Its not undeserved but I feel like they nearly always put defenders in a team of the week if they score a goal, doesn't matter whether they have been shit in defence or not. In this case, Collins defended well too, but that's my observation over the last x amount of years with these things. Collins is great though, God knows how long we can keep him, he's going to become hot property when the new Brexit restrictions come in with less foreign options available to clubs. Interesting ....3 clean sheets in the last 3 games since he came in at right back....is that correct?
