Pre mass tv coverage and club videos/dvd end of season reviews you could only see a Stoke goal if you were either there in the ground or it appeared on a highlights show ie, MOTD,Star Soccer. For me personally i would love to see Paul Richardson's goal at Meadow Lane, was there as a 9 year old and really don't recall much about seeing the goal. And the one i've never seen but would love to see, strange choice i know but i've heard loads of older Stokie's rave about it,Geoff Scott against Blackburn in a 4-2 win.

I'd like to see Maguire's four against Wolves which kept us up. I think two were penalties but just seem odd like the Richardson goal, they are consigned only to our ever failing memories.

A winning goal against Wenger's Arsenal away from home, I dreamt about it enough but it never came to pass.

Yes I recall 2 penalties, and also think one was an overhead type strike. Just seen message above which confirms the overhead strike.

The Tony Ford strike mentioned above, and I wish better footage existed of this gem:
It's also a shame that there aren't more recordings of Chamberlain at his majestic best.

Scott v Blackburn. Was either genius or (more likely) a miss hit cross that moved in the air like a remote controlled banana. Seem to recall a brilliant Steve Bould own goal from way out - think it may have been Wet Sham away?

What a goal Whenever I hear people raving about George Weah's legendary solo goal for AC Milan,I can't help but think mischievously: "bloody George Weah, just a poor man's Peter Beagrie..." 😉😂

Even though I was their Paul Ware's goal at Bournemouth, never seen footage maybe because it was the same day as Hillsborough The best thing about it was the year after we were in a pub when Gerry Peyton walked in with a woman who looked like a transvestite, we ripped him to bits about that goal saying things like "you threw in the net " he kept saying that the sun was in his eyes Good night that was

Slightly better recording of the Beagrie goal here. Chamberlain is also featured earlier in the video, including 'that cross' against Luton

Leigh Palin’s goal v Vale ‘89, not so much for the goal itself as it was a bit scrawny (deflection I think) but more to see the Boothen’s reaction.

I'd like to see the 2 penalty decisions that day. My memory is that it was Clive Thomas's last game, and they proved why he should be retiring. I've always been sure that for one of them the ball had been dribbled back into play from behnd the goal-line, and for the other one he was on the left wing actually running down the outside of the penalty area towards the touchline (Straight at me in the Boothen End), and was never actually in the area.
The other goal I'd like to see again is his debut free kick v Leeds

I've got a vague memory of John Ritchie rounding the keeper and getting down on his hands and knees to nod the ball over the goal line. Possibly against Carlisle. Possibly I dreamt the whole thing.

Re the 4-0 against Wolves...I spoke to Alan Dodd about that game (over a couple of beers) and he confirmed that he had his Stoke top on under his Wolves shirt that day

Carl Saunders's 25 yarder into the top corner at Blackburn mid 80s. As a kid I remember it as an absolute belter but no tv footage

Yeah I've looked for that on YouTube but couldn't find it. Strangely I found an old central TV feature about Vale which showed the Earle goal but not the Palin one

The foul for the second penalty was definitely in the area. (I also used to stand on The Boothen End looking down the line of the 18 yard box on that side. Alan Dodd carefully shepherded Sammy Mac (I think) over the line into the area and then scythed him down. (Only Doddy can say whether it was deliberate or not ) The goal I would like to see would be Jimmy Robertson's solo length of the pitch effort against Newcastle in 1972 (just to make sure that like a good fisherman's tale grown longer in the telling)

I agree, Paul Richardson's promotion winning goal at Notts County in '79.
I was slightly too young to go to away games then.

The Notts County away game was never televised. Sunderland @ Wrexham was when they came from behind to win 2-1 late on and were celebrating promotion at the final whistle as our game was late finishing.
