The Tony Ford strike mentioned above, and I wish better footage existed of this gem: It's also a shame that there aren't more recordings of Chamberlain at his majestic best. I struggle to remember what the frig I did yesterday, but I remember that goal while standing in the Boothen End that day. Incredible

I'd like to see Maguire's four against Wolves which kept us up. I think two were penalties but just seem odd like the Richardson goal, they are consigned only to our ever failing memories. Yes I recall 2 penalties, and also think one was an overhead type strike. Just seen message above which confirms the overhead strike. In the boothen end for this and remember the pens and be great to see. Last game of season, stay up , wolves down, 4-0.

Not a goal but I’ve barely watched the second leg of the Valencia tie.
I was at football training for for the first 60 minutes and then got to the pub and I think we were already losing and I was fuming about the team.

We were 1 nil down, I didn’t think we had a chance, I saw the squad he took so really wasn’t arsed. It’s a game that for me symbolises Pulis at his worse.

So you decided not to watch it based on the squad or fact we were 1-0 down? Would you have been bothered if we won and you missed it, there's always a chance as you know anything can happen in football. Like I said it's not a critism, I just find it surprising anyone could not want to watch it. I find it hard enough to not watch / listen to a normal fixture let alone one of that size.

I'm sure the team what went out that night didn't have that attitude regardless what of TP's motives were. Its easy to say as we did lose but every season unexpected upsets happen and football would be pretty poor if it didn't. I didn't think we would win along with thousands other but it's the not watching I find hard.

I’m a stubborn twat and just wasn’t arsed with the charade.

To not even fill the bench was an undisguised "fuck you" to the fans. I'd have genuinely preferred it if he'd stayed at home himself and left the team with Kempy, it would have been more honest. It was the single most contemptuous thing he did as our boss, by a long way.

Going into it we had 30 points and were 9 points above the relegation zone. He was telling our players he didn’t trust them to get three more wins. I dunno how the players felt. This lack of ambition is one of the factors in his sacking a year later.

He said some players needed a rest before the game. We did only get 3 more wins. Two were the games directly after Valencia then 1 in the last 9

He said would be a team' to give them a game' was his exact comment and not our full line up.

"Goalkeepers were made of sterner stuff in the good old days. After breaking his arm during a game against Aston Villa in February 1952, Stoke City's Dennis Herod went out on the left-wing and scored The Potters' winning goal in a 3-2 victory."

Big Bren’s goal on his debut within 13/14 seconds Also for some bizzare reason Goodfellow’s last minute winner at Peterborough on a midweek night and the mental that followed 😄

Jimmy Greenhoff drove home a late winner in a 1-0 victory in a League Cup tie v Man City at the Vic
It was in front of the Boothen and 39,000 fans in a night match. Never seen scenes of delirium quite like it.
I swear I saw the goal again on Sportsnight when I got home that night but I've never seen any video footage since ?

Only game I ever watched from the Butler St paddock.

A few for me: - Chambo away at Brum - Gareth Evans away at Bolton - Beest away at Telford in the cup

Felt like he was about 25 yards out when he headed it, but probably wasn’t. No video anywhere.
