I wonder what happens with some of these players. Strikers like Dave Bamber and Tony Ellis are hailed as legends at other clubs they served but live long in the memory for other reasons with our own fans. We have always seemed to be up for giving has beens & past it’s one last pay day. Gidman, Higgins, Stewart, Gabbiadini, Southall, Gudjohnsen, Owen. Can anyone remember Decker Statham???😳😂 I remember Statham and was quite happy when we signed him as he'd been a top player for West Brom and Southampton. Unfortunately it turned out his best games were behind him and we went down! Standard Stoke. H

It’s not that bad there is no Paul Stewart? And I agree with Jesusmcmuffin that Kofi Nyama should be the left back. Failing that, we have a guy current in our first team squad who could comfortably fit in there. Any worst XI has to include Paul Stewart most of the players mentioned on this thread were rubbish but few if any didn't at least try, Stewart didn't and clearly couldn't be bothered he was a disgrace.

did not Paul stewart score at middlesboro in a 1.0 win when a Mr Ravanelli put in an appearance for Middlesboro that showed he had no interest of being there and sulky around the pitch all game.

Think was his last game. They ended up with 4 strikers on the pitch. Beck and Merson played the last 15 minutes pretty much in our box and they just lumped everything to them

Peter Griffiths anyone? Signed from Bideford. Also that bloody airy fairy winger, Sam something or other from Shrewsbury, apologies if already mentioned haven't trawled the thread Remembered, Sam Aiston was it? Saw Griffiths play at least once for us and he wasn't bad. Never knew about the Everton interest though or that he was with us for so long! Griffiths moved from Bideford (Western League) to Alan Durban's Stoke City for a £15,000 fee after a successful trial in November 1980, giving up his job as a self-employed panel beater in the process.[2] He scored his first goal at the Victoria Ground on 27 December 1980, in a 2–2 draw with Coventry City; this was his only goal in five starts and five substitute appearances in the 1980–81 season. Everton made a £150,000 offer for Griffiths, which was rejected by the Stoke board.[2] He scored three goals in 33 games in the 1981–82 season, finding the net against Aston Villa, Middlesbrough and Swansea City early on in the campaign. He soon fell out of the first team picture under Richie Barker, and made just 11 First Division starts in the 1982–83 campaign, finding the net once in a 4–1 win over Birmingham City at St Andrew's on 4 September. He featured just five times for the "Potters" in the 1983–84 season, and was loaned out to Bradford City. He played two Third Division games for Trevor Cherry's "Bantams", in a brief stay at Valley Parade.

Brek Shea.
I have never seen a player look that far out of his depth - played like a puppy chasing a balloon.
For me no-one comes close - it could have been funny but ended up horrifying. Even now the memory makes me want to scratch my eyes out.
He was that bad he wouldn't get into the shittest Stoke team ever on the basis of being too shit.
