Just had my house burgled. Thankfully the police turned up and arrested everyone in the street. Even me. A1 policing. The burglars won't be back anytime soon. I hope they arrested the kids as well, tasers at the ready for any of the little troublemakers...

For not moving on but we couldn’t When did standing in public space become an offence? Probably around the same time as loitering with intent to use a pedestrian crossing and walking in a loud shirt in a built up area during the hours of darkness did.

I expect everyone else you’ve been arguing has made everything up too, You and only you were there and you and only you speak the truth and you and only you have the wisdom to see the truth. You are the light . We must all hail the master who sees all. Thank fuck we have someone so wise and enlightened amongst us! BM

You really are missing the point that most people on this thread are trying to make. Of course if idiots didn't cause trouble there would be no problem. If there were no criminals we wouldn't even need a police force. But there are criminals and hooligans so we do need a police force - we can all agree on that. But that doesn't mean that the Police should not do their jobs in such a way that they don't make matters worse. And the police do on many occasions fail to do their job properly and do make things worse. If you have been a Stoke fan for a while you should remember an incident before a Stoke game at Old Trafford (about 10 years ago?) when the police overstepped the mark and detained some Stokies in a pub and then bussed them back to SOT. Several fans were paid compensation (in some cases of over £1000) for what happened that day. Surprise surprise, immediately after that incident there was a minority of fans like yourself, who said the Police were blameless. The Courts decided otherwise. I know all about Manchester and the police were out of order with a predetermined plan. Luton was a case where fighting or even a riot was possible. The police had to act and sadly the innocent get caught up with it. From what I saw kids and other innocents were being pushed roughly by the cops because the cops were trying to break up the thugs. Of course the thugs were pushing just as determinedly again impinging on the innocent. If I'd have seen batons being used on kids and adults I'd have been the first to complain. Make no mistake I'm no lover of cops when they overstep the mark. In my bad experience of the day there were no thugs as you say at all in the group that I was in and almost everyone was bemused at what the fuck was going on, you must of been in another group! Also a riot was possible? Absolute bollocks from my point of view, although if the police had their way, they were trying to create one!

Let there be no mistake about this, This was quite clearly caused by Plod and Plod only! I have been travelling to away games since 1968 and have witnessed all sorts of shenanigans. However I have not seen these tactics used by the Police for a very long time. They antagonised the fans and there was absolutely no need for it!

This thread is turning into something surreal
some people created issues inside and outside the ground. That is not in dispute
What is also not in dispute was that a lot of Stoke fans had their basic rights infringed by a Police operation which was ineffective and increased the potential and actual level of disorder which occurred. what happened later in London seems inexcusable as well
my observation for what it was it is worth is that the Stewards looked frightened and demoralised inside the ground and didn’t look like they were managed. They had the look of a poorly paid and demoralised firm TBH. The Police were young and pretty inexperienced and largely absent from the inside of the stadium. About 20 minutes from time the helicopter emerged which as I didn’t see before hand and I guess was a response to someone pulling the emergency cord. the Police had been remote all day and were now taking instructions from the sky!
The Police panicked and were over run...they then have over reacted at the station and my guess is to save face having bundled everyone on a London train they then told the Met they had a train load of Barbarians landing ...the Met then rolled out the red carpet
A shit show from start to finish
One final point though if any of you guys know any of our lads, can you tell them to lay off the coke if it prevents them from identifying old folk and children when they throw their weight around

What sort of inbred goes to football to fight? Should be castrated to save the world from such creatures! The castration of football hooligans has been advocated by Professor Duff of Cambridge University and the community worker Sally Barnes. Have a look at Brilliant, spot on!
