Will we let him go? Surely we can’t let all 3 go? I think we might keep that useless shit despite him being the saviour to all our financial woes. If Moyes offers anything near £12m, hard to see how we could possibly say no? Without knowing the ins and outs about Etebo's attitude etc, this desire to get rid of him makes little sense as he isn't one that's on big money. It only makes sense if we fully anticipate at least get our money back, but I'm not hopeful. Far more likely to be another shitty Turkish loan Yeah completely agree. But this is Stoke. Getting rid of our best players and keeping the one that could solve a lot off the pitch and causes most issue on the pitch is peak us.

Massive shame. Solves naff all financially. Get ready for a similar nonentity of a deal for Etebo! And it's not as if Etebo is a big earner. Looks like any flexibility is going to come down to shifting Allen. There is one fundamental difference: Because of FFP we can only sell players if we get our money back or make a profit, dependant on length of contract and how long they have been here. E.g. Sign a player for £10m on a five year contract. That's £2m a year. After year one we have to get £8m for it not to count as a loss re FFP. We paid about £14m for him January 2018 so we would need a big fee to make it worth doing. No big enough fee coming so it has to be a loan. That way we cut the wage bill (which we have to do) but it doesn't count as a loss. Etebo we paid £3mish summer 2018. Surely to God someone will pay more than that for him, no need to loan hum out. In fact he's our best chance of making a profit of all our signing. The alternative is keep them and play them however we have to cut the wage bill and cut it sharply or we will fall foul of FFP. Butland might still command a relatively decent fee. Allen we can probably sell, given apparent Premier League interest, without an FFP hit (at least). Woods we should be able to shift. Imbula, Wimmer we are stuck with 😲 Ince,Bauer we could move on but again will almost certainly have to be loans Afobe is injured for another year. Someone might take a punt on Vokes,Clucas and one or two others. It's a shit storm but we are in it. We simply can't risk relegation and a twelve point deduction The manager has to keep us up whilst reducing the wage bill and making a profit on some players.

Finances now dictate Bayern If somebody wants one of our BIG earners they’ll go It’d be financial suicide to keep them Surely Butland would make the biggest difference to the finances with what he is still worth ( a lot less than a year ago) relative to what we paid for him - even considering the payaway to the Bluenoses. He must also be on a large weekly wedge.

I can't see any way we get that back unless there's English interest, and it's deathly quiet. Sadly, I don't see anyone touching any of our Rowett/Jones signings with a barge pole.

If he was sacked does it negate his value against FFP? We made a 29.3 Milliom imparement adjustment in our final premier league accounts so that probably wrote off Berahino/Wimmer & Imbula values down to virtually nothing.

The N’diaye signing of circa £500K per “appearance” for 27 appearances (not forgetting signing on and agents fees) is a prime example of the sustainable recruitment strategy/policy devised and managed by JC and TS.
Thanks to all involved for the decline, present and foreseeable wilderness in footballing terms
Happy New Year

We are in a position Where we will take any offer see Badou even ONeil isn’t daft enough to believe woods is a genuinely better option. As is proved by ten fact he’s dropped him already . Etebo and Allen will be next relegation is now secondary to the pass the parcel financial bomb dropping in the hands fo the chief executive anything literally anything goes in this window Except the truly abhorrent contracts be negotiated with imbula and Wimmer and Bauer

Which if we stay up is fine, if we go down then they all need sacking for allowing it. £700k is now a large amount of money for us. The accounts sounded good on the surface but the £29 million player amortisation is a massive number and really worrying. As far as I can see it will be similar next year as no big signings have contracts ending next year. That more than absorbs the parachute payment so we will only have about £20 million of revenue to cover all costs not just player wages. Badou’s wages are about 4% of our available revenue. Given we will have had our mid-season financial meeting with the EFL, it looks like we have committed to generate revenue. The risk is if we don’t generate income and reduce costs, we will start next season with a points penalty

And as for penalties, well you are assessed on a 3 year rolling period in this league aren't you?, and the punishment is discretionary? There has only been one points deduction and that was for deliberate flouting of the rules, and basically because Birmingham didn't want to pay a fine, and could afford a penalty as they weren't going up or down that season. The owners should give the manager what he needs to sign a couple of key players, but obviously move out as many as they can.

He'll be back, there is no way Trabzonspor will be able to afford the transfer fee. So why let him go then in our position? He was playing well enough. Stupid to let him go without a cash sale given where we currently are. Who is going to buy our players when the players themselves know aswell as other clubs that we will just loan them out anyway. Scfc, the gift that just keeps on giving

Why the hell do we keep being given updates and pictures of a person who doesn’t want to be with us, who has hardly made a real difference, and who everyone on the planet knew was leaving 10 days ago? The sentinel mob even seem to present it as happy and exciting news, with a countdown. FFS, move on.
