Good for him. He's got lots wrong that's for sure however magnificent today. Not magnificent but luck went our way...although how he didnt give a pen for Allen being thrown to the ground was unbelievable What? We hit the bar, probably should have had a penalty (that we probably would have missed), had the better chances and generally bossed them. What luck are you on about?

I'm amazed that some people can't cut the bloke some slack. He's just won against the top team (on their patch) with a performance the likes of we haven't seen for donkey's years; we've come from a goal down; scored in the last minute, and sent all those Stokies home who went to the game feeling on top of the world. Besides that he was pretty much out on his arse with his pride in tatters after the Hudersfield game, and even if he does get the sack now, at least he's gone out with a brilliant performance. The bloke was high on adrenaline and loads of people talk a load of bollocks when it kicks in. So as far as I'm concerned, I absolutely refuse to be negative about anything today and I'm going to enjoy being a Stokie who has just seen his side win a great game in the last minute. It reminded me of the winner against Villa when we first got promoted to The Prem. There's no worse feeling than losing in the last minute, but there's no better feeling doing the opposite, especially given the shit we've had to through over recent years. So I'm one happy Stokie and I'll leave all the negativity to those who want to be that way. OS. I wish I could like this post more than once! It's a lovely post! 👍

I’ve never known a football manager talk about themself as much since Cotterill.

Even though i'm personally of the view that he should have gone after Crawley, you cant sack him after today. If this does turn out to be his last game, then its a brilliant way for him to go out, an absolutely outstanding performance.

He is absolute garbage one win in 20 ffs he got lucky today just get rid he is the worst manager in the clubs history bearing in mind current resources Utter tripe, as far as today's result is concerned. He managed the players well. They put in a magnificent effort. Etebo hits the bar. They keep going to the end, when they could have tried to keep a point, and grab the win. We beat the top team in the div away! 18 shots on goal, 9 on target! He/they certaily weren't lucky! Bloody hell, what more do you want. But then you have your agenda.

I listened intently to the interview and have no idea what to make of it other than the lad's certainly come out fighting. When was the last time we heard a Stoke manager sounding like that? Apart from Nath of course

Nath - please thank the club and the fans for their incredible patience. I cannot imagine you would have gotten off so lightly elsewhere. A little gratuity and grace might be more appropriate... He has done, more than once,he even said any other club would have sacked him by now and the fans have been incredibly patient

Today proved you make your own luck, it was no coincidence that we had eleven players who gave their all today and guess what we won a game of fucking football, if Jones stays he has to drop McClean, Ince, Lindsay, Cousins, Ward, Vokes, Powell permanently and Gregory to the bench he couldn't score in a brothel, he has to bring in a proper LB and a striker from somewhere.

"I have had to work my socks off to get where I am. I have had to fight for every part of my career and as a coach I am no different. I've gone back to being me and I like me. BBCWhen did he come out with the 'gone back to being me and I like me' bit? Who was he before then? "We have created 41 chances in the two games prior to this and we lost them both."Just why on earth does he feel the need to come out with this sort of stuff, I really don't understand it? He clearly knows that it isn't true, well at least I hope he does ... Is it not? Crosses etc into the box it is true, which is what I think he's getting at.

You can tell that today’s result and subsequent interview was a massive release for him and I’m really pleased as I didn’t like to see the emotional pressure he was suffering. He’s spoken as though he feels a corner has been turned and I hope it has. However, the things he’s said could come back to bite him and I think he’s backed himself into a bit of a corner with the comments. If further wins don’t follow quickly, I don’t know what else he can say without looking a bit daft and personally I think he could have been a little more reserved....but, the guy has just had a magnificent win so you can’t blame him for letting rip I suppose.
Today is a good day for him and I hope he can sleep soundly for once and allow himself to focus even more on what’s needed ahead as there is so much to do and so many points needed.

3 points to sign off for Nathan. At least he can go out with his head held high. But he should be absolutely no where near our football club for the next game. I can't see them sacking him after a win. Just imagine if they do and the new incumbent falls flat on his arse. They would look even bigger mongos than they already do. You'll have to wait a little longer for the capped wonder In fact I love the fact that the top brass will really be scratching their heads tonight after this win. Stick or bust JC, what's the plan? Gudjon was sacked after a win. Megson was sacked after a win. Eastham was sacked after a 4-0 win. It is the pattern of results that matter and we have four league victories in umpteen games and sit bottom of the table a quarter of the way through the season.

But its the whole circus that has gone down this last 3 years that is the difference. They are in a massive predicament currently. Sack him and they will be paying 3 managers simultaneously, Rowett, Jones and the new man. Should the new man fail.....ooooof, what a massive problem that will be. FFP means they can't afford to agree massive one off pay-outs now. They have to think very very very carefully. They will stick and keep praying this is the turning point. *megson was sacked because the Icelanders came in to be fair, I think.

Megson was sacked because new owners took over. Gudjon didn't have his contract renewed at the end of the season. As for Eastham,I really can't remember but I think the 4 nil was against a non league team in the FA cup

I think 99.9% of the fan base wanted him gone after Tuesday's horror show. I see some people are moaning that he seems full of himself, wouldn't you be the same, proving the doubters wrong for once. I no I would find it very very hard to hold in my emotion. The guy has took all the flack and hate and had to endure the opinions of pundits, today he earned the right to bite back for once. Fair play.

The bloke comes out fighting after one of the best performances from Stoke for a number of years - and he's still a cunt for it?? Some of the comments on this thread prove exactly what he was talking about. Some of the shit you read what people call him...prick, arsehole etc. He’s putting absolutely everything into it and you can tell how much it means to him. He’s shown massive bollocks this week. 1) For walking out in that press conference and 2) For that performance today. He’s got a lot of things wrong, but what we saw today is what a Jones team can be like. It doesn’t make him an “arse hole”. Whatever this work is he keeps banging on about finally clicked today in my opinion.

He’s not getting cut slack by some folk because he’s done nothing to earn any
He’s been full of shit since pretty much day one, and if he’s saying this is his first choice 11 that proves it
He’s manipulative and arrogant. He was playing the sympathy card after the Huddersfield game, then gives it large after today.
He’d make a great politician, but he’s piss poor manager at this level and regardless of the win today he absolutely has to go

I would say we were unlucky to go 1-0 behind after 56 seconds, but then showed amazing spirit to come back from that. Along with a great tactical change 10 mins in and some great subs. It was a perfect performance, and if Gregory was on target we would of been 3 or 4 to the good!
