You don't think he's had stick? Local media, national newspapers, every set of away fans every game. He's admitted he'd normally be gone. Probably makes him even more relieved and happy not just for himself, but for the owners who've given him more than enough time. He’s been completely shocking. It’s not undeserved stick. The media report on everything on every manager and have quite right suggested he is out of his depth, not performing and quite frankly should have sacked for his record. Away fans are away fans. But you said he hadn't taken tremendous stick? The spotlight has been shining brighter and brighter on his and as he said, rightly so.

Telling lies is not the way to go though especially for a god fearing bloke. He has nothing to fear ...but fear itself.

If he'd have won 3 on the bounce he may have just got away with that interview. The irony is most of the fickle people who now want him to stay after one win will he the first to criticise the board if he loses another 3 on the bounce and we have no new manager lined up. 🎯

He can say what he wants. He’s been under immense pressure and still is. He gives a fuck. That’s why the fans (and they have) stuck with him. That interview was a release for him. Imagine being under that kinda pressure and getting a hugely unlikely win at Swansea. I understand his reaction but it is only 1 win. The question is now can we build on this. Barring any injuries that may happen during the international break he should pick the exact same side and go out with the same mentality. If he changes the side around and revert back to type then he has only himself to blame. Make no mistake this result will have definitely halted the decision of the board.

Even when I liked Jones I didn’t like how he operates like with the clapping at the end. It’s not what I want. But get why people do. I think its what modern managers seem to do now. Klopp does it every game home and away. He does. Hughes was crucified for how passive he was but I liked that. When Jones did that at the end of the Leeds game I just cringed and that’s when I thought he was the saviour. It’s just not my cup of tea. But I do see why people like it.

That sentinel photograph above, is definitely not one of a man who has been sacked.

If he does leave, to sum up something weird, and proves his effort, enthusiasm, work rate, some shit bad luck along the way, if he returned in the future with another team, he would probably get a polite applause. Correct but mad at the same time

Doesn't take away from the fact that only CCV and Gregory, from Jones's summer signings' started today Also McClean dropped = better defensive display and 3 points. How can he be giving it the big talk when the players and decisions he's been making/playing for the previous 10 games have just been proven to be shite BUT has the penny finally dropped? If so more wins for Stoke City? If he returns to type he can F—k off!!! 😊

I'm amazed that some people can't cut the bloke some slack. He's just won against the top team (on their patch) with a performance the likes of we haven't seen for donkey's years; we've come from a goal down; scored in the last minute, and sent all those Stokies home who went to the game feeling on top of the world. Besides that he was pretty much out on his arse with his pride in tatters after the Hudersfield game, and even if he does get the sack now, at least he's gone out with a brilliant performance. The bloke was high on adrenaline and loads of people talk a load of bollocks when it kicks in.
So as far as I'm concerned, I absolutely refuse to be negative about anything today and I'm going to enjoy being a Stokie who has just seen his side win a great game in the last minute. It reminded me of the winner against Villa when we first got promoted to The Prem. There's no worse feeling than losing in the last minute, but there's no better feeling doing the opposite, especially given the shit we've had to through over recent years.
So I'm one happy Stokie and I'll leave all the negativity to those who want to be that way.
OS.

Fuck it I’ve cracked open a bottle of sambuca and I’m enjoying it. The performance has been something we have been threatening for a while, the principal now is same team same formation and crack on. Let’s be honest any manager we bring in is going play something similar or put McLean and ince on the wings.

The main reason that we won today is because we had a solid defence and a majority of players giving 100%. That may have been because Jones has finally realised that it is a good idea to defend as a team when we don't have the ball and to stop opposing players waltzing through our midfield.
If he stays as manager the next thing he needs to do (unless there are injuries) is to play the same side in our next game

Cutting through all this nonsense, the basic question remains “can we find anyone better?”. In my opinion, very unlikely. Well if that really is the case we may all just give up now. If you think it's not possible to find a manager who can win more than 4 games in 9 months then there really is no point to any of it

I would give him another game, despite everything. If he wins the next one he's going to go on a run and turn this completely around

I must ask, are we really discussing the interview that now is up at the SCFC official website? Sometimes there are not just one, but a couple of interviews.
I just saw it. It surely can't be that one?! Fantastic answers and explanations! I wouldn't have changed a word of what he said there.
Good Evening! ⚽

Oh dear. I can’t believe he’s let himself come out swinging like this. He was given a tiny glimpse of an opportunity to look like he actually had things under control and he’s blown it completely.

It's the Hughes situation all over again and some people just don't learn.
