I seriously struggling to see any positives with Jones at the moment.... I really wanted it to work out for him here after Rowett!!!
Lose t'morra and its gonna get nasty,
A win, would be extremely welcome, but I can't help but think it would only be a one off, then back to the norm!!!
Call me "half empty", but right now, I'm finding it extremely difficult to be "half full"!!!

Rowett was given £50m and blew it. In no way did we wreck his reputation. That was all on him. Jones is the same, he's been backed, if he fails to walk the walk that is on him. Take your Stoke supporters glasses off and consider what opinion you would form if you were a manager with aspirations. Both Jones and Rowett had good reputations as lower league and in Rowett's case Championship managers. Yes Rowett spent money, Jones less so but that money has dried up now. Along with rumours, true or not that our chief exec. is difficult to work with and that you don't always get your first choice target. Whatever you think of them any manager who is any good will be looking at them, coupled with Hughes and Lambert and be thinking not for me. Do you want to end with another manager like Lambert who is just over the moon to be given any job? I notice that Rowett didn't leave Derby in a mess and Jones didn't leave Luton in a mess so yes both of them had good reputations before joining Stoke. It wasn't our fault they fucked it up. Gary Rowett was given a huge budget and he blew it. Jones has had 11 players. I don't know how anyone can defend them. Who would want to come is another story but that's not the point.

I'm not particularly defending them just saying that to the outside world it looks as if they lost their reputation at Stoke. Four failed managers is not coincidence and unless it is huge bad luck must have something to do with the state of the club. There is no way we can attract a better manager than Jones at the moment and at least he is a long term project. As I said in my original post I think our reputation is so low that even Pulis, who I hope we wouldn't turn to, would turn us down at the moment.

Anyone in the footballing world will know there's more to it. At the moment you could pick anyone in row 4 of the Boothen end and they'd probably not do a worse job that Jones who is failing miserably despite having one of the strongest squads in the Championship.

Amazing how people think managing a football club is easy. Makes you wonder why they have to do their coaching badges. There's more to it than choosing the strongest 11 and saying "Go arn thrash the opposition"

..but has he really brought in players to play this diamond formation? I really don't think he has and I actually think other formations could bring the best out of our players too. I also think there should be real competition for places, even if you have to leave big names out of the starting 11, this means you're out of the team when you don't perform. I actually think we have one of the strongest squads in this division, but we're still rock bottom. Can a manager be blamed for not getting the best out of the squad? Yes, I think so. I really don't understand how you can free him for any blame for this situation!? Still it's early days, but for every game we don't win now the pressure will increase. I actually can't see us go 3 more games without a win without seeing NJ facing the consequenses, that's football and why owners pin their hopes on new managers to do a better job.

Both those are getting pelters on here so that's not correct is it. If it's any consolation on that point I don't think your mad at all.. I don't know what you're on about now? He said blame the players for the last 4 years - the only ones we have that have been here are Allen and Butland? They are having a shocker I don't dispute it but they don't deserve the venom of the last for years as the poster suggested! I'm sick of everyone blaming our players. Last year, yes, they didn't look arsed. This year they have been trying until their heads went at Preston. You can't keep buying 11 players a transfer window because you have a manager who can do fuck all with them (including the ones he bought)! You said Allen and Butland are having mares but anyone who says so is is called mad. I said that's not correct because they are both getting slaughtered on here so that is incorrect.

They are in awful form but saying they are bad apples, unprofessional and haven't tried over the last 4 years is something entirely different. That is what the poster was saying - that the last four years its all the players fault - the only players who have been here four years are Allen, Butland and Shawcross and they are not the cause of the disaster over the last 4 years.

I can’t have that mate, they’ve gone right through him. Being open is one thing but a Conference level keeper should be stopping them. I’m not defending him mate, I’m just pointing out he’s not the only one culpable It’s disgraceful it got that far Hardly worldies mate were they I could have saved the second at PNE and made a better fist of some of the others.

“Jones is failing with one of the strongest squads in The Championship”
“Jones has brought in players that are not good enough”
If you’re using both of these totally contradictory statements then it’s pretty clear you are bashing Jones for the sake of bashing Jones. It’s one or the other. You can’t use one and then use the other a couple of posts later or it just seems that you are throwing as much shit at Jones as possible with no real justification to make it stick.
If you’re saying Jones is failing with one of the strongest squads then surely Jones has recruited well and is failing in his performance management.
Or is it the contrary and he has recruited badly? It can’t be both. It’s one or the other.
I can accept that the job jones is doing is not good enough but being hypocritical and contradictory just to add fuel to the fire is below the belt. At least have some consistency and reasoning for your opinions.

In 4 games the opposition have managed 13 shots on our goal and 8 of them have gone in. Butland and Allen have both been involved in quite a few of these situations leading to goals against us and need a break in my opinion. Still 13 shots on goal in 4 games aren't bad at all really, but 8 of 13 going in is really horrendous!

Yeah an he said he was surprised how well we played when we went 433 against qpr because we haven’t trained that tactic that’s the bet we have played this season an he’s not tried it again.

Jones plays First World War tactics, send them over the top, I know they will get slaughtered by German machine guns but hey that's war and that's the tactics we know. Bring on the tanks please - and damn quick!

Fucking hell there are some miserable bastards on here who are all drinking out of half empty glasses.
Jones will put it right this season and we won’t get relegated
I’m sure we will be top six come May
Can’t any of you see the positives in the play ?
Individual errors are costing us and strikers not being able to do what they are paid for for whatever reason
It will come good FFS cheer up we have seen worse than this !!
Back the bloody manager this season and stip acting like a bunch of premier league supporting fannies.
Get a grip
