But aren't many of them now Jones players? Presumably we pursued Cousins on a free from QPR rather than Bidwell (who played in a position we really need to address) because Jones had coached him years ago st Charlton? Who sanctioned the signing of Smith to solve one of the few problems we HADN'T got but left glaring holes in the squad? I have tried to be very positive about the appointment of Jones because teams who keep changing managers usually decline but we are being beaten by some very average teams who are beating us without breaking into a sweat! I know the clusterfuck that is our club is not Jones fault (this stems back to people who thought Wimmer was the answer to our defensive frailty and was worth £17million !!!) but I have to say another 3 or 4 games like this and we have to act.

It is Jones.
I believe we have enough good players to get promotion from the championship.
However, I believe we have some crap players as well.
The problem appears to be that he puts too many of the crap ones in the team. With 3 subs last night, we still finished the game with 4 players who should not have been near the team.
Just a case of picking our strongest 11 players for each match.
Players yes but the manager picks the team and he is not doing a very good job of it.

For all you lot who blame NJ he’s manager number 4 since the capped one and if all these managers are not good enough then maybe it’s the people above who select these people need to be held to account I mean 1or 2 bad managers ok but 4 quite frankly is sheer incompetence

Point taken since then though, lambert, Rowett and jones have been poor appointments.

We need to stick with and support jones... Fuck these charalatan chancers, make it known we are with the manager. They will have nowhwere to hide then,we cannot keep sacking managers because of toss players who dont want to be here!! Keep the faith, rant over. NJ chooses the system (the f------ diamond system). NJ chooses the players (do we have the player for the diamond?). NJ has bought around 10 new players since coming here (hopefully players he wanted to come here). When is the manager to blame? At least he plays a part in it as I see it.

The problem goes deeper than Jones but, and it’s a big but, he has not delivered on few if any of his promises.
Not buying players who are not better than what we have - failed
Buying players to suit his diamond - failed
Addressing the left back position - failed
Giving everyone a fair chance - failed ( see Pieters, Bojan, Adam, Bauer, etc)
Creating a young energetic, hard running team that are on the front foot - failed (Vokes 30, Gregory 31, Ward 34, Batth 29, Hogan 27 for balance Cousins 25 but a bit shit and dropped, Lindsay 23 but any better than Collins, Powell 25 but injury prone ( I’m not counting loans and he doesn’t seem to play them anyway)
He’s persisting with a system that isn’t working with players not suited to it and by doing so ignoring the few talented players we have.
He’s continually playing players who are not performing (see last season as well) whilst ignoring players who have impressed and then are dropped.
He’s shoehorning players into positions they are not suited to (Ince, McClean, Allen, Clucas)
Jones’s actions do not align with his promises, his talk does not match what we are seeing, these are his players, his tactics, his selections and his substitutions and he has had more than enough time to create some semblance of coherence of play, we are not asking for the finished article just a modicum of improvement.
I applauded the board for making a bold appointment and have defended Jones in the past but his record to date is without doubt appalling.
He needs to take a large apportion of the blame for results over the last 8 months and our current predicament.

All he had to do was buy a couple of holding players in midfield, and by that I mean players who've played their lately, not someone who once played there years ago when he was 17.
Its a really simple thing. I thought in the summer we'd go for a couple of defensive minded midfielders to steady things, a good left back, a playmaker, and a mobile striker.
We neglected the defensive midfielders and the left back. So that's where the holes are and the reason we are a mess.
Its so fucking simple. Put me in charge last summer, give me the transfer window and I'd have us mid table.
Who are these useless cunts all through the club getting paid to make these stupid decisions?
I hope people are on the pitch on saturday. This club is a fucking joke

I think the problem is we haven't got any who can run fast or win a challenge in midfield. It really is as simple as that, and why we get bullied. Any team in this league will come and rough us up and pick up easy goals. By the way.I want Jones to stay. I've decided I want him to have at least another window to sort out the key areas and see if he can get us moving in the right direction. I'm tired of seeing managers getting sacked

Is NJ feeling the immense amount of pressure at the moment. He’s the “front of house manager” to the media, not a position I’d particularly relish after a performance like last night’s. He looked “gaunt” during last nights after match interview.
Without doubt individual players and collectively as a team they are making fundamental mistakes which are being punished. Once over that line NJ has very little control of actions on the pitch.
Whether or not NJ is the right man, whether or not the wrong system is being utilised I can emphasise fully with the man who IMHO is a genuine guy

He might be genuine, but I think he may be overcomplicating things.
I have got a friend Tracy, who is 43 and stunning and was saying last night, that she has been going to job interviews since she was 16. She always wears something ridiculously low cut, with the most micro micro skirt ever. And in nearly 30 years, she has never gone for a job interview. Been interviewed by a man. And not the got job.
NJ should take a leaf out of Tracy's book and just keep it simple.
If he doesn't, I am going to get Tracy to apply for his job, when he's gone.
She will definitely get it.
And I am fairly sure, she will be an improvement.

We've won 4 games out of 26 under Nathan Jones. Swansea have won 4 out of 5 under their new manager Steve Cooper, despite losing their two best players in the summer. Sheffield Wednesday have won 3 out of 4 under their caretaker manager Lee Bullen. Birmingham have 2 wins from their new manager Josep Clotet Ruiz's first five games. Forest have 2 wins from their new managers Sabri Lamouchi's first five, as well as a creditable draw away at Leeds. Very telling stats.

Tracy knows how to get the deal done and dusted And Scholes doesn't I guarantee nobody turns down Tracy

Was listening to talksport last night and the presenter described jones’ Luton side as a “winning machine” ... it’s bizarre how a manager can do so well at one club and then fail so badly at another, was he just lucky at Luton ? He’s a very enthusiastic manager, talks well and is probably a good motivator and maybe that’s good enough in the lower leagues but not in the higher leagues ? You need more tactical nouse in the top two divisions, tactical nouse he might not possess? This is the Luton keeping us company at the bottom of the table?

You just carry on sucking the players off then, who have been shit for 3 YEARS. He’s bought 11 players. 11! None of whom are any better than what we had. And then he’s playing them in a system they aren’t suited to. Not all systems suit all players! So who should we have bought? Who was in our price bracket, willing to come to us and could have made all the difference? You keep saying we’ve gone to shit and Jones is wank at his job but have offered no viable alternatives. Last night was just shit, I’ll give you that. But Alex Neill got his tactics right, he took Eoods out of the game by marking his up to stop us playing a quick break. Butland had his worst nightmare ever and Joe Allen offered nothing as an option. That’s the spine of the team. The forwards couldn’t get service because the rest of the midfield were trying to cover Allen’s gaping holes. The opposition outthought us tactically and got their just reward. Derby should have been beaten by half timeS should Barnsley, all for the woodwork we’d be just outside the automatic promotion places. But obviously bad luck isn’t an excuse in your eyes

But obviously bad luck isn’t an excuse in your eyes Firstly, you’ve missed the fucking point. My response was to the argument that it’s a load of bad apples he’s having to deal with. I don’t know how anyone can run that argument when he’s just bought 11 players. But let’s just leave that aside... I don’t think the players he’s brought are bad and I have no said that. I quite like them but are they better than what we had which is what he promised- no they are not. Do they fit the system he is hell bent on playing - no they do not. If you’re asking me what players I would have bought - Ayaji and Sawyers are the two most obvious to fill the gaps we needed. As for a left back well letting Pieters go without a better alternative was one the first in a long line of idiotic decisions he seems to be making. The forwards done get any service because we’ve got one creative outlet and instead of playing one of the No.10s he bought he’s playing a winger there. As for the defence. The midfield is wide open because of the system he playing. The DM he bought isn’t even getting onto the bench which says something about his recruitment. Additionally I don’t think it’s the best idea to play a bog standard relatively slow centre back in Danny Batth so far high up the pitch. But the diamond requires it so all reason must be sacrificed to pander to it. Are they doing any defence training? Having gone from a relatively solid defence at the end of last season something gone to shit over the summer hasn’t it?

I didn’t even reply myself as who has even been here that’s been here 3 years now (bomb squad excluded) - Butland, Allen and Shawcross isn’t it? Obviously Butland and Allen are having absolute mares but you can’t really say they’ve been the problem for three years or are bad apples. I wanted to leave him in his blissful timewarp where the likes of Jesé and Choupo are still walking around. Ignorance is bliss it seems.
