Young and athletic.
My arse.

Pieters positional play was shite when we were in the premier league, I don't understand the wank fest for him. As you're new to the board I'll explain. The less a player plays the better he gets on here.

The club are acting like they've walked into a pound shop for the first time and think they've cracked life. Buy cheap, pay twice! Or pay 18 Million for Imbulla, 15 Million for Wimmer, 14 Million for Badou, 12 Million for Berahino. The 5 who have just signed I can safely say will significantly out perform the above.

We've got back up with Clucas and McClean. We don't need this guy. Young and athletic. My arse. Hardworking model pro that will help the atmosphere in a dressing room previously littered with big money flops that think they're better than what they are. Need players like this in the squad. Something we've missed since Huth/Whelan/Walters & co. left

Pete Smith suggests we'll be buying TWO left-backs. So maybe not too much cause for panic if this guy is the back-up. But it would leave zero role for McClean Ah shame no role for McLean... Don't be so sure with this manager, he'll be one of the first on the team sheet I shouldn't wonder.

We've got back up with Clucas and McClean. We don't need this guy. Young and athletic. My arse. Back up??? The two jokers you've mentioned, ones a bone idle midfield player with a crap attitude, whilst the others a bog standard left winger who works hard. Neither is a full back. Square pegs in round holes just doesn't work. All this "can do a job" is bollocks, let's get two specialist left backs in. Would Ward be my first choice? nope but compared to the two you've mentioned then he's a far better alternative as part of the "squad".

I don’t get why we can’t keep Pieters as back up for his last year....I’m sure we are unlikely to get a fee for him?

Pieters has got nothing to do with it. The manager made it clear in January he wasn't part of his plans and too find himself another club. The poster mentioned Clucas and McClean were his dream as left back back ups, hence my reply that two specialist full back are always a better option than square pegs in round holes.

I’d imagine Eric will be on a decent amount. exactly this we need a really good attacking left back & we need cover Pieters is not good in the opposition third & is too expensive to keep as cover If Ward is first choice LB then that's massively underwhelming If he's back up on 1 year deal then that's perfectly sensible

Why is everyone so happy with us supposedly signing ‘backup’ players when our first 11 proved it wasn’t good enough last season and our squad is absolutely massive Dunno- it gets my backup it really does!

I rate Pieters as well. But it really does mean fook all if I rate him and you rate him as the manager obviously doesn't. So moving forward we need two specialist left backs.

Perhaps Ward had been recommended by Danny Batth as they'd of been together at times during their Wolves days. Or Jones may have sought Batths opinion had he already had him in mind.

Butland who is leaving and McClean, in the news every week with a narrow minded comment on anything Ireland related. Great role model!
