Seems like he’s been very dissapointing whilst at QPR but brilliant at Charlton. Worth a risk and if anyone can get the best out of him it’s NJ.

The more you look into it, the more credible the link seems. Looks like it was Jones who converted the England youth right-back to defensive central midfield?
So potentially cover for Edwards too?

charltonlife.vanillacommunity.com/discussion/81720/jordan-cousins-to-return-one-day/p2Seems to have a good character, good physical ability, and a fantastic engine. So possibly more of a solid, versatile athlete than flashy player. So could be a contender for cover at diamond RB too? If there's any truth, looks like we're really going all in on the cheap and cheerful (with fees if not wages which will probably remain biggish in some cases) And, it has to be said, there were few tears from QPR after his release

Not sure what I think about these links.
Very cheap and cheerful as FM puts it.
I guess we can’t do much worse than last season, but surely there are better players out there?

Blood, sweat and tears and a salty degree of manliness. It can be done, others have proved that. Nathan as the arch-grinder. I don't mean he goes on 'Grinder' only that is what he will have to be an arch-grinder to carry off this stunt!

Hard to really see what this guy would offer that Clucas, for example, couldn't though? Oh well...there could well be nothing in it. We really need to add goals from somewhere as there just aren't enough in the squad. The left-back, defensive midfield holder and then some kind of game-changer with goals further up the pitch (in addition to Powell)

Yeah - you'd hope we're looking to spend it somewhere! If we're in for Justin, it suggests there is a little bit sloshing around for the right one. But maybe we're waiting for the Butland money?

Well, Clucas is definitely going to be staying, isn't he? So he and Cousins (if there's anything in it) would potentially be competing for the same minutes as similar players - although they could both offer additional 'do a job' options at full-back. And Jones has said he's going to be looking for a core squad of 20. Doesn't leave all that much room for maneuver.

Seems more like mix to me - and we could do with a bit more grit in the side.

From the bits I've seen of Ajayi, I would have him at Stoke , looks quality st the back or midfield.

We do realise the goal is promotion to the Premier League right? I'm trying to keep my powder dry until the end of the window but we need big signings at left back, defensive mid and a game changing player in attack. If we don't get those key signings these other ones are pointless

We do realise the goal is promotion to the Premier League right? You could have said the same thing when we signed Pugh,Whelan,Sidibie etc That's very true. But he liked a bit of flair too did TP. He had a rampaging Ricardo Fuller and Matty Etherington to compliment some of the more 'job in hand' players. And he had a 'long throw' and a 'cage' in lieu of a 'diamond'. Way to go with the window yet of course.

We must be haemorrhaging wheel barrows full of pound notes every week with all the high cost (that's high cost not high value!) assets we have either disinterested or out of favour.

We do realise the goal is promotion to the Premier League right? It's beginning to look very much like that isn't the goal. They must think fans are thick. Cousins played through the England youth setup up U20, did well at Charlton and has struggled in a (poor) QPR side. He's got pedigree - whether he can live up to the early potential remains to be seen but this is hardly shopping around in the amateur leagues and park pitches. I don't think the club think fans are thick - just out of touch with the reality of our situation. We're going to have to tale a chance on this type of signing - we aren't going to do it by buying in Premiership quality players. It isn't going to happen.
