Some of you lot need to get a fucking grip. Today was not a great performance but we deserved at least a point from that. We bossed most of the second half but just could not create much. Lets not forget that the Baggies are fourth in the table and have the best frontline in the division. Yet according to the Oatcake it is the most diabolical performance ever? Of fucking course... Moaning and whinging every time the ball is passed backwards, booing every subpar performance and heaping loads of additional pressure on the players is just making the situation worse. The constant 'poor me' histrionics on here and on social media won't help the atmosphere much either. People keep talk about the club being 'toxic' but the most toxic thing about it right now is a large section of our fanbase. We called for Rowett to go, we called for a young manager who would play attacking football. We got our way and said we would give him time and be patient. Six games is not fucking patient. People writing him off already and comparing us to Sunderland are fucking idiots. I know some of you are very precious and entitled, I am anticipating you will all whine about how much you pay, how long you have supported the team, how much the players are paid and wah wah wah... but none of this is helping our situation. On the contrary, you are actively contributing to our demise. I am just as frustrated as the next person and yes the majority of the players have been relentlessly lame for a good couple of years now. However, if we are going to grind ourselves out of this shithole we need to stop crying so much and stick with the team a bit more. If it is too difficult for you to resist contributing to the constant negativity it is probably in everyone's best interests if you fuck off for a little bit. Totally agree Phil. I am largely up beat and looking forward to seeing how NJ clears the team and rebuilds the squad from the ground up. The only thing killing my love for this club at the moment are those fans you’re talking about. Home games are embarrassing.

Jack hardly had to exert himself either against one of the best frontlines in the championship...gave away stupid free kick and we were punished for it but other than that there wasn’t much between the two teams. West broms attack didn't need to come out of 2nd gear all game we gave them time and space on the ball it was unbelievable how they were waltzing round us at times. Course. West Brom are known to sit back and protect a 1-0 lead. I don’t disagree that they had too much time and space on the ball but I think to say they weren’t even having to try is just unfair..

The issue for me is the fact we have been asked to support the team & get behind the lads for 2yrs now with little to nothing in the way of actual entertainment for our money, no goals, cleans sheets, decent football, points on the board. We are expected to give it our all week on week to support the team when there is no value for money coming back the other way.
Its not NJ's fault the squad isnt up to what he requires & he has only been here 5mins but i think its simply a case of as a supporter base we have nothing left in the tank, nothing left to give, we have had no inspiration for nigh on 2 seasons. There is only so long you can cheer for nothing.
Watching the game yesterday i didnt even twitch for the whole 90mins, Saturday afternoons have become a complete chore & i am sure i am not alone in that feeling.
People from a working class area spending there hard earned money to watch a group of players who earn way way more than the supporters could even dream, producing pitiful display after pitiful display whilst themselves being asked produce better & better unconditional support every week.
There is only so long you can sing, cheer & roar for nothing.
The only thing that will turn the situation round for players, staff & supporters is results, simple as that, its absolutely the only fix. For me thats what NJ needs to realize, for all the building for the future & that system or this, process, everything, without results the whole thing will get worse & worse. He needs to give the place some positivety & the only thing that can do that is starting to win some football matches.

For all the people getting triggered on here... I am still not getting the bit where you think your negativity actually helps our cause? Tell me fuck off all you like, but while your at it can you please answer that question?
Put aside whether all the endless moaning and whining is justified - it may well be - and lets get to the bit where we discuss the impact this is having on the pitch.
Are you honestly telling me that if the players know that every back pass or minor fuck up will lead to boos and people shouting abuse at them this will not affect their performance? They are becoming too scared and too nervous and yes, they should accept some responsibility for that but we might as well not compound the problem ourselves by acting like spoilt little children in the stands.
If the players know that a narrow defeat to a team that is chasing promotion, with a frontline of Rodriguez and Gayle, is going to result in this level of negativity then they will be go into every single game with ten times the amount of pressure as their opponents are facing. Do you not see how you aiding our opponents?
I'm hearing a lot of shit about three years and blah blah. Guess what... most of the players on the pitch weren't here even one year ago. They played no part in our relegation. Baath and Vokes have been here for two fucking weeks. And as for those that have been here from the beginning, players like Allen and Butland, how are we helping them? Neither of those are responsible for our plight and they could quite happily fuck off to a Premier League club whenever they wanted.
And nobody is asking you to sing and cheer shit. We are asking you to do literally nothing. Just shut up for a bit. Stop booing, stop shouting abuse at our own, stop starting 32 new threads after every bad performance, close your whiny little twatter accounts and just pipe the fuck down for a bit.

That is where the source of all things toxic is and deep down we all know it.

We seem to be getting worse though. Poor old Jonesy's record sees him firmly in Chris Kamara Country. 3 points from a possible 15, a cup exit at home to league 3 opposition and no goal for over 5 hours. Hopefully he is right in his assertion that his mystical 'processes' will eventually deliver results but it's no surprise folks are getting twitchy. What I find astounding is that nobody seems to have realised that we'd be in this position when we sacked Rowett who was doing ok with the team he'd built and replaced him mid season with Jones who hasn't managed at this level and is working with a squad low in confidence and unsuited to his preferred style of play. It was a cast iron certainty things would get worse before it (hopefully) gets better - and there is a very distinct possibility it won't get better. Like it or not the only aim left this season is to avoid relegation and get the players who will be around next season used to Jones's style of play. We would probably get more points if he did what Rowett did - adapt the style to the players we have and grind out results - but all we would achieve is to be a few more places higher in mid table. Given where we are we are going to lose against the teams in the top half - to ensure safety we need to be beating those below us. Next week is far more important in terms of where we'll be at the end of the season than yesterday. Don't get me wrong - I want us to be competing at the top of the table and beating the likes of West Brom and there's no reason why we won't be some time soon. It's just not going to happen this season with this manager and this squad in these circumstances. As a supporter you can choose to boo and criticise - that's your right and every supporter shares the anger and frustration of every defeat. However the OP is spot on - carry on venting your anger at the players, the manager and the club and we'll end up in a downward spiral that will make things worse. Those posters denying responsibility for their actions and that it isn't the fans fault have got it woefully wrong - supporters can and do make a difference and we all have a choice - either get behind the team when they need it the most or vent our anger and make it worse. And if you're incapable of getting THIS team and THIS manager then for everyone's sake just bugger off, lock yourself in a room and play videos of the times when you were happy as a Stoke supporter. Otherwise you really are part of the problem.

I agree that booing during the game won't help the players.
But it has always been the same. At every football club when the team is shit the players get jeered.
Why would it be any different at stoke?

I think you are right but like a team in decline it takes a lot to sort out the crowd too . Not sure we deserved much same old really soft goal against enough possession but they didn't need a keeper . Fans need to decide if they back NJ to sort it or not , if they do then give him until the end if next season st least , there is a lot to sort out .

No manager in the world could get a tune out of these fucking wasters. Forget the Leeds fluke. I don't blame Jones, he can only work with the shit he's got. His two signings seem ok. My problem with the OP is his almost Pulisesque description of West Brom. These fuckers got relegated with us , have nowhere near our funding yet are streets ahead of us. This is because of wank poor club management from top to bottom. Horse spunk recruiting that my 5 year old could have scrawled better with a crayon. The toxic environment created by upper echelons, the lazy arrogant selfish twats that have the temerity to call themselves professional players. How is it so fucking easy to sack managers who are shit but not players? It's so fucking indicative of us to buy the likes of Afobe instead of the bloke who actuslly decided the game yesterday. We need a wholesale clearout in the Summer regardless of contract lengths and let Jones get his own squad together. If we can correct all that and it's still not working , then we can start thinking about blaming the fans. H This is the key to it as far as I can see . The owners have to back NJ to remove ALL those he doesn't want here as quickly as possible even if that means paying them off. The other thing that needs to happen is either get his first choice in windows or play a youngster until you can , this policy of buying 2nd 3rf and 4th choice targets has landed us in this shit . I like Jones but it's a big step up for him so some patience is needed although after 3 years of decline almost I appreciate its thin on the ground.

This is getting worrying now. People are saying give Jones more time until he brings his own players in. Well, we've witnessed two of them already and whilst O.K. they are nothing special. When Bojan came on he was looking up all the time, delaying his pass because the other players were just standing idly by. Why not try Bauer at left back, as Clucas and Indi are massive weaknesses in that position. It's beginning to look like Rowett mark 2 with both Bojan and Bauer out of the squad. Does that ring a bell?

The win against Leeds was probably the worst thing that's happened to Jones. Overnight, our supporters went from accepting that we have a rubbish team and are now having six months of consolidation and rebuilding, to going back to the Rowett mindset of expecting us to steamroll everyone in sight.
We're rubbish. We will be lucky to win more than 3 or 4 games this season. That would be true if any manager in the world took over. Jones is here for a long term building job that involves replacing half of the first team squad in the summer.

I wholeheartedly agree with this post. The atmosphere was a return to the Victoria ground which many years ago Mike Doyle had the balls to raise. A little encouragement goes along way. The away support is totally different to the home support and we are indeed a part of the problem. And using the f word to disagree is proof positive. It’s arrogant And the away results are great arent they ?

The train incident last year, the social media shit spouted on a weekly basis & players sushing the crowd when they score are fuelling the divide.
We need a clear out and a big one, particularly of Rowett players.
